Blackbird Farm

3 sites ¡ RVs, Tents100 acres ¡ Buena Vista, GA
We are a working aquaponics farm, located in Marion Co Georgia. From maps it shows that we are about 13 miles straight line distance from Columbus Georgia. That would be true if you could drive through Fort Moore, which you can't so in reality we are actually about 35 mins or 23 miles from Columbus. Luckily if you want to experience some of the activities there, the drive is pleasant with very little traffic. Our rush hour consists on average of about 20 cars until you get back in closer to the city. Our campsite sits beyond the gate in front of our small farm/general store. There are rustic bathrooms with hot water, wifi and plenty to do! We encourage you to hike, bike, and explore. Deer, coyotes, wild hogs, and other creatures roam freely. Any pets must stay fully leashed at all times (see below). Our day starts early in the summer as we harvest for market. We make every effort to be very quiet, but the field crops are close to your camp site. We will never run a tractor until after 11am. You may hear the greenhouse fans kick on starting around 9am when the system starts warming up. Pets - Are welcome if contained on a leash at all times. Due to wildlife and our own animals present, we can not allow dogs to roam freely. Even the best pooch can react uncharacteristically to baby goats, not to mention crazy chickens. Bathrooms - are located next to the store and a short walk from your tent site. Site - Is on level ground for tents campers RV vans and more. There is a fire pit, picnic table and water spigot. The water is not well water and comes from the county main water line. There is a main highway leading up to our gate so you do not have to off road to get to the property. We love to give tours and welcome you to explore. We also for full transparency mention we are a working farm, so roosters, tractors, and other chores start early. We however do not make noise up by your site until much later in the morning. We want you to sleep soundly and peacefully.

Private RV Site Full Hookup

1 site ¡ RV1 acre ¡ Fort Gaines, GA
We love the outdoors, so naturally, we love to camp. We were looking for a few properties that would allow us to get away and camp in a secluded area where we can enjoy nature. We found this property, and with its proximity to Lake Eufaula and George Bagby State Park, we knew that it was a perfect location. So now we want to make this property available for your enjoyment as well! Learn more about this land: Come and enjoy the great outdoors at Lake Eufaula (Walter F. George Reservoir). With your private RV site being located next to the entrance to George Bagby State Park, you will have easy access to all the activities and amenities that the lake and park have to offer. Whether you enjoy fishing, swimming, biking, kayaking, canoeing, wildlife viewing, a nature walk, or if you just want to relax by a fire at your campsite, there will be plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors during your stay. The Park has a really nice boat landing, which is less than 1/2 mile from our lot, so it is very convenient to launch your boat. It also has a marina that is only $10 per day if you want to leave your boat at the lake while you are there, or you can just tie it up at the park if you want to head back to your campsite for a break during the day.  When you get back to the park with your catch you can make good use of the fish cleaning station as well. There are also picnic tables, a playground, a really nice swimming area, large pavilions, a restaurant, tennis courts, and a golf course at the Park as well. If you like wildlife viewing, you can take a walk or a bike ride on the paved bike path which is over 3 miles long. It is rare to walk or ride this path without seeing deer or other wildlife (refer to the pics section for more detail of the walking/bike path).  We also see deer from our campsite, more often than not, when we are there. Even though there are other residents on this drive, our lot backs up to a large wooded parcel of land and the lot next to this site is vacant, so you will have plenty of privacy during your stay.  Our RV is on another site on this property, but we normally won't be there if the site is booked so that our guests will have the whole property to themselves.  However, sometimes we have to come in on Friday evening to complete landscape maintenance on our other properties, if so, we will leave on Saturday afternoon.  This site has the following amenities: plenty of shade, a level gravel pad, and a fire pit. It also has a full hookup with electric, water, sewer, and free WIFI. We pay for garbage pickup as well, so there is a large can provided for your convenience (pickup is usually on Monday around 8 am).  This 1-acre site has more privacy than most campgrounds because there are no other campers 20' away. The site has easy access, as it is just a short distance off of the paved entrance road and to the park (refer to map in pics section for more detail on location). NOTE: Our site is not on the water, the pics of the lake are from areas within walking distance from our site.  When it comes to tent camping, we don't mind if you add a tent, but you must have an RV with a bathroom because there are no bathroom facilities on-site. Can you picture yourself here for a relaxing time at the Lake during the day, or enjoying a campfire at night? If so, go ahead and book this RV site for a getaway while the dates are available! Helpful Information:   If you need to shop, there is a Dollar General, Rubos Grocery, convenience stores (gas and bait), bulk ice machine with filtered drinking water, etc. in Fort Gaines which is only 3 miles away.   Also, there is an annual park pass available ($25 for seniors) that will allow you to visit any Georgia state park as many times as you would like throughout the year of purchase, which can be purchased at the lodge in Bagby. Other Parks -  East Bank Park 2.5 miles, Kolomoki Mounds State Park 17 miles, Providence Canyon State Park 37 miles, Yoholo Micco Trail 22 miles. We also have a 2 bd/2bth mobile home on a 1-acre lot across the road that we rent out as a short-term rental.  So if you need more room for family or friends, this may be an option for you. If you need any more information or you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Overview

About

If you’re looking for Georgia’s hiking and backpacking mecca, you just found it at F.D. Roosevelt State Park! Traverse through picturesque hardwood and pine forest while catching flickers of babbling creeks and majestic waterfalls. Included in the park is the popular 23 mile Pine Mountain Trail, where you’ll be sure to break in those new boots. You’ll be walking some of the same trails and gazing at the same vistas as the late great President Franklin D. Roosevelt himself! After hiking, take a dip in the refreshing Liberty Bell Swimming Pool fed by natural springs, or head out on a guided horseback ride. The campground is heavenly and sits near the edge of a small fishing lake. You’ll be cooking up a southern style barbecue round the fire in no time. If you’re looking for something a bit more luxurious there are cabins to rent too. Either way, remember to bring the ice for those tall glasses of lemonade, or even taller mint juleps!

Notable campgrounds

  • Pine Mountain Campground: Nestled in the park's rolling landscape, offering serene lake views and access to hiking trails.
  • Lake Franklin Campground: A group camp by the lake, perfect for larger gatherings and close to nature's tranquility.
  • Backcountry Campsites: For the true adventurer, these sites provide a rustic and remote experience amid the park's wilderness.
