3 Creeks Camp and Nature Preserve

14 sites ¡ Lodging, RVs, Tents10 acres ¡ Anderson, SC
This Property was purchased by Grandfather in the 70s  and then was passed to my Mother. In 2013 I decided to live life differently and start from the ground up building with natural materials and found materials. At that time I was fortunate enough to have the land passed to me and I started building a home for myself and to be close to my mothers home nearby. After achieving the basics I decided that the best use of this beautiful land was to create a place for people to relax and enjoy, a park like environment dedicated to preserving natural beauty and amplifying it through a permaculture lifestyle. 8 years later I am blown away at how far the dream has become a reality and love sharing my space with people from all over the country.

Serenity on the Saluda

1 site ¡ RV, Tent40 acres ¡ Honea Path, SC
Just a small piece of God's creation right on the Saluda River. Come and enjoy the solitude and serenity of this spot on the Saluda River, surrounded by thousands of acres of forests and farms. Camp on the river, in the field or overlook the river from the high bluff in the old growth forest.  The gravel road going down to the river is finished, I drive my Honda Civic down daily and no issues (very low clearance). Kayaking from Holiday Dam to the camp site is incredible. The trip takes about 3.5 hours with lots of shoals and rapids. You can also kayak or tube from the camp site to Erwin Mill bridge in a little over an hour. This is more of a river float with just a couple rapids, but equally as beautiful.

The best camping near Elijah Clark State Park guide

Overview

About

Perched on the western shore of Clarks Hill Lake, one of Georgia’s largest lakes, Elijah Clark State Park takes its name from Revolutionary War hero Elijah Clark. A history lesson is top of the agenda for park visitors, so follow in the footsteps of the pioneers at the Log Cabin Museum, before heading down to the sandy swimming beach to cool off with a swim. Getting on the water is also a must, whether you bring your own boat, rent a kayak or canoe, or go fishing and hiking around the lakeshore. Campers can choose between RV sites, hike-in tent sites, and cozy cottages.

Notable campgrounds

  • Best for lake views: The main Elijah Clark State Campground has 172 tent, trailer, and RV sites with space for up to 40’ trailers and full hookups available.
  • Best for hikers: The Walk-In Campground provides tent-only camping just off the trail, plus a bathhouse, picnic tables, and fire rings.
  • Best for glampers: The 20 Lakeside Cottages sleep up to eight people and have air-conditioning, heating, and kitchenettes.
