Carrs Station Mystery, Georgia
Property is bordered by old railroad track. The R/R Depot was near here was Carrs Station for which the area and main road were named. Railroad picked up bricks that were manufactured from the clay in the surrounding hills. The factory was on the parcel behind our currently owned parcel. There were underground chambers to do with the brick making that we have been unable to determine how used. Whole and partial bricks with names of companies they were produced for have been found. Have been unable to get much info on what actually went on.Hope to learn more.
The railroad was later used by Ga Power to haul coal to the now defunct power plant on Lake Sinclair at Milledgeville. When the last of the power plant equipment is hauled away the future of the R/R will be determined. It is our hope the road bed will be turned into recreati
