The Helton Homestead, Florida

Our property has been in the family for a little over 60 years. Susie's parents, Jesse and Bobbie Hobby, purchased the present 5 acres in the 1960s when this area was a huntcamp called Sportsman's Retreat. The homestead was established in 1978 when Jesse retired from the Air Force, and the family moved to Inverness and built the present house. For the past 44 years, the Homestead has been a home and refuge to both family and so many others. Susie and Mark became the owners in 2015 when Bobbie passed away, and they felt a calling to return home to their roots after having spent the first 33 years of their marriage traveling the globe with the Air Force, and then pursuing second careers in California. They are very much looking forward to living out the rest of their days caring for the land that Jesse and Bobbie put so much time and lo
