The Bird Ranch

4 sites ¡ Tents4 acres ¡ O'brien, FL
The Bird Ranch is 4 acres of peaceful nature. We have 3 pioneer sites (2 with fire pits), one RV hook-up (power and water), and a cabin to choose from. We never really know what wildlife is wondering around or when they might pop up. Rest assure though; there are always birds singing, crickets chirping, frogs croaking, owls hooting, and we can even hear the neighboring pigs, chickens, cows, goats and dogs carry on. I will take all that over city noise any day of the week! The property has trails, an open field for games, and plenty of day outings to do. There are 2 natural springs (Royal and Little River) off the Suwannee River that are within a 10-minute drive. Branford Springs and Troy Springs are within 20 minutes. You can float down the Ichetucknee River on an innertube, catch a local rodeo just down Hwy 129 or take a 3 hour round trip bike ride. Cedar Key is a quiet little town with cute shops and restaurants. They roll up the streets after sunset; but what a beautiful sunset! There are also a few horseback riding ranches within 20 minutes from the property and if you're really adventurous and want to ride a camel; Lonesome Chicken Camel Ranch is less than an hour away.

About

Lafayette Blue Springs near Mayo, Florida, combines sparkling waters and huge oaks. The springs gush up to 168 million gallons of water daily to form the headwaters of the Suwannee River. A wilderness trail that goes through the park provides easy access to public lands.

Paddle the iconic Suwannee. Nearby outfitters can loan you a canoe or kayak. Don't forget your fishing gear to catch a fresh dinner to cook at your campsite. The river is part of the park's draw.
