Waterfront Camp/Glamp/RV

8 sites ¡ Lodging, RVs, Tents2 acres ¡ Marineland, FL
Beautiful waterfront lot with nearly an acre of land. Access to the water view, and 1 mile from a beautiful beach that’s rarely crowed. There is a rustic shared camping cabin with a shower, toilet and kitchen which was built by my grandfather in the 1930s. You have access to many hoses and it’s possible to hook up an RV for an extra charge. The property is large, as we own 3 lots, so there is plenty of space to post up. We will be adding a luxury water view glamping tent soon if you would like an upgrade. The main 3 bedroom house is also for rent and sleeps 10 people. We have two paddleboards for rent, and its possible to pay to use a laundry room if its available. Private yoga and massage is also available, but must be booked in advance. Paddleboards: $15/hour or $35/day Washer-Dryer: $10/day Massage/Yoga: $100/hour

There is a Dollar General, a gas station and a small cafe within walking distance. We have 38 acres of camping sites nature trails for hiking and mountain biking. Guests can park right on their site, or they have the option of parking and hiking into the woods to set up their site a bit more remote and off the beaten path. This is rustic camping. We have a bathhouse located at the campsites with showers. The bathhouse at the Great Lodge will be ready by Fall 2022. Whereas we do have garbage cans, we prefer that anything you bring into the property, you bring out with you. We allow campfires. Don't be surprised if you see a monkey or two in the trees... The fishing is amazing in these parts, so if you are an angler, come and visit. We have .75 miles of frontage on the Orange Creek. The creek flows into Lake Ocklawaha which just so happens to be one of the best bass fishing lakes in the USA. In fact, ten-pound bass are not uncommon from the Lake Ocklawaha River in the winter. Recently (2020), a 17.2-pound bass was caught there. The combined Ocklawaha and St. Johns drainage basin is possibly the most significant river-estuary waterway of Florida. This water system is of legendary reputation among anglers of largemouth bass who seek 10 pound plus trophy fish. Conveniently located between Ocala and Gainesville in the heart of Orange Springs, Florida, Camp Seminole Spring is perfectly located for the traveler who wants to really connect with nature. It appears to be ‘off the beaten path’, yet it is close enough to civilization so that even the most seasoned camper can make a quick run to store should he or she need something not found in nature. Camp Seminole Spring is mid-way (approx.. 22 miles) between Ocala and Gainesville, Florida, which are two thriving cities in this area of Florida. Ocala, the ‘horse capital of the world’ showcases a brand new multi-billion-dollar equestrian center which draws people from all over the world. This scenic property has an artesian spring which pushes out 1.6 million gallons of water per day rated among the top three percent of water in the world with an 8.4 natural pH. This water fills the pond and then continues on to flow into Orange Creek. Camp Seminole Springs was established in the 1940’s as a honeymoon resort and campground. The founders built a heart-shaped ‘pond-spring’ which is filled with the crystal-clear water pushed out from the spring where guests can lounge by the beach or gaze down into the bottom through the glass-like water or take a refreshing swim. At the top of the hill overlooking the heart-shaped spring, one will find the rustic Great Lodge where guests can come and mingle with each other, enjoy a relaxing conversation and a drink on the veranda or just sit and watch the activity in and around the spring.

Celestial Acres

6 sites ¡ RVs, Tents2 acres ¡ Hastings, FL
Welcome to our little homestead. We have a bit of extra space on the backside of our 2 acre property so we thought we would try out Hipcamp to offer some camping. In May 2023 we just passed our 1 year on HipCamp!! To celebrate we got ELECTRIC!! One of our spots now has 50/30 amps and another one will have it soon. We still saved some space for people that would prefer to boondock at a cheaper price. So excited to offer this to all of our visitors! So stop by and back on down our private newly leveled gravel road to nuzzle into your cozy spot in the country while still enjoying the pleasures of your air conditioning! The peace and quiet and being surrounded by farm land and horse pastures will have you wanting to come back and stay longer. We just finished (well 2 years ago) traveling the country in an RV with five of our 7 kids (oldest two were in college) and we had a terrible time finding places to stay in Saint Augustine when we came home to visit. I hope that we can offer some nice people a safe and beautiful place to park their rig. Things to do: The property is near the historic St. Augustine, a fun walkable/bikeable city, lots of state parks and of course an awesome beach! Other things to note: 6 Miles away is 4 Lakes Campground with dumping facilities

Roxie is a wonderful host who met us upon arrival and departure to make sure all was going well. She even gave us some amazing fresh eggs from her chickens that roam freely on the land. (Be prepared for a lot of rooster crowing EARLY in the mornings). Our campsite was level and had water and electric. It was not too close to the other campers who were there and we had plenty of privacy. Star gazing was awesome! Highly recommend."

The best camping near Faver-Dykes State Park guide

Overview

About

Okay, so the water may not be youth-preserving (like Ponce de Leon was hoping when he landed in nearby St. Augustine), but the rivers and creeks that flow around Faver-Dykes State Park are sure fun to splash around in anyways. Paddle down Pellicer Creek to the Matanzas River on a water route that’s designated as a State Canoe Trail -- you can rent canoes at the park concessions if you don’t bring your own. The creek’s calm waters are perfect for stand-up paddle boarding, too. On dry land, see if you can spot the wading shore birds that poke their long bills around the salt marshes, or look up to catch an eagle or hawk flying from its nest in one of the park’s slender pine trees. Hiking, biking, and fishing are also popular activities. Depending on where you post up on the creek, you can snag both freshwater and saltwater fish like red drum, snook, bass, and bream (just make sure those previously-mentioned hawks don’t swoop down and steal your catch before you hook ‘em -- sneaky little raptors). After a visit to Faver-Dykes, you’ll get why everyone raves about “Old Florida.”

When to go

The ideal time to visit Faver-Dykes State Park is during the cooler months from October to April, when the weather is pleasant for outdoor activities. Summer months can be hot and humid, with a higher chance of rain and storms, potentially impacting your adventure plans.

Know before you go

  • Check the weather forecast and prepare for Florida's varying climate to ensure a comfortable visit.
  • Review the park's rules and regulations to preserve its natural beauty for all visitors.
  • Accessibility is a priority; inquire about facilities to accommodate all guests.
  • Remember to pack essentials like water, sunscreen, and insect repellent.
  • Stay informed about any park closures or special events that might affect your trip.
