Relaxing adult-only, dog-friendly glamping stays with private bathrooms and a view of the Yorkshire Wolds.

There’s little drama in the Yorkshire Wolds, where a crescent of chalk hills arcs from the east coast of “God’s Own Country”. It’s a place for pleasant walking in rolling countryside or on long sandy beaches, for visiting genteel seaside resorts and mooching about in sleepy villages. It’s on the edge of one of these, in a place called Wold Newton, that you’ll find Wold Meadow, a glamping site that’s just for grown-ups with an emphasis on relaxing stays.

The site’s six yurts, each with a private hot tub, offer the ultimate places to unwind but there are a couple of other accommodation options to choose from, too. An off-grid star-gazing bell tent provides something closer to camping and a stationary VW campervan with awning is parked up, ready to move into. Whichever you choose, you’ll find the beds are made and that towels, toiletries and robes are provided for you. Each has its own facilities: lovely indoor shower rooms for the yurts and more rustic outdoorsy equivalents for the bell tent and campervan.

All this sits in a two-acre meadow, sheltered on three sides by hedges and open to long views across rolling fields on the fourth. It’s rather a nice scene to enjoy as you cook your dinner on the provided barbecue, warm your toes by the campfire or sink into a bubbling hot tub. The place is tended to by Jayne and Graham who’ll welcome you to site, settle you in and make sure you have everything you need. This can-do pair ran a large caravan site and holiday homes for years so little can faze them and they know the area as well as anyone.

If you fancy a pint in the village pub, they’ll point you in the right direction, if you want somewhere to walk the dog (they are welcome here) they'll tell you where to go. If it's a longer walk you're after they might explain how to get to the Yorkshire Wolds Way. It’s activities like these along with strolls on long sandy beaches, discovering stately homes and visits to seaside Filey that’ll keep you busy here. All grown-up days out for a grown-up getaway where the most dramatic thing you’re likely to encounter is the way the chalky wolds plunge into the sea at nearby Flamborough Head.

Wold stay .
Lovely peaceful stay with a beautiful view over the Wolds and great base for visits to the coast ,great communication prior to our arrival and a beautiful Yorkshire welcome pack in our Yurt .Everything we needed for our stay with maybe a mini fridge instead of a cool box ,we discussed the possibility of a mesh fly screen and better lighting around the hot tub but even though the wood fired tub wasn’t for us we had a wonderful stay .Thank you .

Brilliant break
Beautiful place and gorgeous yurts. Loved the dedicated shower and toilet space, which meant you could leave your smellies etc locked up. Hosts were amazing - super friendly and helpful. Some skills required to get hot tub to the right temperature - so ask hosts if you need help! Yurts are dog friendly, and I loved the persons touches. There’s a local pub (basic pub grub) allows dogs but in the bar area which only has one table for eating - but the staff were again super friendly. Short drive to some local walks, about 20mins to Driffield centre, which has a lovely canal walk.

High standards throughout
What a stay cation. Jayne and her family cannot do enough to ensure that you have the very best of times. So many extra thoughtful touches in the Yurt and a fabulous welcome pack. Sitting in the wood fired hot tub looking out over the fields and under the stars just heavenly. Having your own private shower, toilet and warm changing facilities such a welcome extra touch and maintained to the highest standard. Do book the afternoon tea if you can the platter of treats just delightful and incredible value. Cannot thank Jayne enough for supporting me through a hectic later arrival to ensure chilling out and relaxation the only goal for the rest of the holiday. I wish you every success in the future and will certainly be returning. A perfect location, with quiet surroundings nestled in Yorkshire. Please consider booking, you will not regret it 👍

Beautiful glamping
Beautiful Bell tent with a really comfy bed, a fire and fairy lights. A really special place where they have thought of everything. Fantastic views across the hills and the log fired hot tubs add serious glamour. We will look forward to coming to stay here again soon.

From the host
Welcome to Wold Meadow Glamping, located in a peaceful corner of the stunning Yorkshire wolds close to the Yorkshire coast. Nestled in the heart of the countryside, our guests can gaze out of their Yurts and look upon the rolling fields. Repeat trips are a must in order to see fields change colour throughout the year. Shades of green welcome you in spring that burst into fields of gold as summer rolls on. Finally, the fields are harvested and return to earthen browns, ready for next year. Our rural site includes five spacious yurts. Wold Meadow is situated just outside the pretty village of Wold Newton close to the very popular victorian seaside resort of Filey. Situated just outside the village, Wold Meadow boasts indulgent, luxurious, circular canvas dwellings – just for adults! Each offers up their own colourful personalities, having been tastefully dressed and carefully curated to ensure our guests have a cosy experience in your very own home away from home! Our owners – Jayne and Graham White are the brains behind this brand new venture allowing you to taste the outdoor life – with a huge dose of luxury on the inside. Their vision for us was born following the sale of their holiday cottage business, which has given them oodles of hospitality experience ensuring all you wonderful guests get just what you were hoping for – and perhaps even more! They have lived in the area all their lives so have a wealth of knowledge about where to go and what to do, combined with an eye for detail which will leave you desperate to return to fill our beds time and time again.

Wildlife lovers and birdwatchers won't want to miss the seabird colonies at Bempton Cliffs RSPB Reserve (01262 422212) and Flamborough Head, 12 miles from site, on the spectacular chalk cliffs.
