Our land is primitive...the view is breathtaking! You can see Longs Peak from our backyard! You can camp anywhere on our 12 acres, our homestead and out buildings take up only 1/2 an acre. (We even have a playground with swings, if you're so inclined.) There's a backdoor entrance into our basement where there's access to a full bathroom with shower (shampoo & soap), toilet and towels provided.
In the summer we have raised garden beds, spend a little time helping up water and you are welcome to our fresh Rocky Mountain grown vegetables.
It normally snows from November to April, we welcome winter tent campers :) The perfect time of year for weather is June to September. The County is primitive, no box stores for 60 miles! Hot Sulphur Springs has an amazing set of hot springs just 15 miles away and great after a longs day hike. The Foundry in Winter Park also offers an upscale experience for new released movies, bowling alley and GREAT FOOD.
Our property is only a 2.5 miles walk along our dirt road to many trailheads into Arapahoe National Forest where you can see antelope, elk, and sometimes a moose.
We are 21 miles to Rocky Mountain National Park. There are thousands of trailheads and great places to fish within 20 miles of our homestead, just ask for a recommendation.
Once apart of the historic Cottonwood Pass Road (CR 55) diverges from US Highway 40 about 4 miles south of Granby, and circles south through aspen and pine before rejoining the highway in Hot Sulphur Springs. The area takes you past horse pastures, aspen groves, pine forests, and the remains of historical stage stops and school house.
