The cabin on 60 acres, shared with our main house nearby. There are apple trees and a trail into the woods. We are also near a boat launch onto Gawas Bay. We are close to cycling routes and about 5 minutes from the village of Hilton Beach and 10 minutes from Richards Landing. We are located about 7 minutes from the bridge onto St Joseph Island. Please google St Joseph Island tourism for what the island has to offer.Comfortable cabin with pastoral views on mowed property with access to woods and close to boat launch, cycling routes, beaches, marinas, historical parks, museum and hospital. St Joseph Island is a great place to tour by bicycle, motorcycle or car.   Some points of interest to visit are Adcock's Woodland Gardens, the local museum or Fort St Joseph Historical Park.

Hilltop Cabin
A wonderful, serene cabin stay!
We just loved staying at Dawn's cabin. Dawn thoughtfully sent us more detailed location information in advance which was really helpful, welcomed us when we arrived, and she and David were available to us throughout our stay for anything we needed. The cabin was so comfortable, relaxing, and serene, with cheerful decor and many amenities -- we were really glad we'd chosen to stay here instead of a hotel on the mainland. Relaxing on the front porch with a view of many trees was great: we could see myriad birds as well as grazing deer, and a family of sandhill cranes landed right next to the cabin. The night sky was dark and star-filled, another bonus for city-dwellers enjoying a rural stay. Our hosts' hospitality was amazing, with bonuses of their tasty fresh garden produce and delicious maple syrup produced right there at the farm. This was our first visit to St Joseph Island and we were just delighted by how relaxed and uncrowded it is, with good diners and waterfront restaurants, fantastic tours at Fort St Joseph and Adcock Gardens, and a really great little museum too. Overall, this cabin on a farm was a wonderful place to relax and unplug for a few days. We look forward to returning someday for the St Joseph Island beaches, hiking trails, bike riding, canoeing in the little bay just down the road from the cabin, fall bird migration, and fall colours (so many maples on the island)! Thanks Dawn and David!
