Straddling the Sacramento River, Woodson Bridge State Recreation Area is nestled in the gorgeous oak woods with the serene Mount Shasta, Mount Lassen, and Trinity alps looming in the distance. With a beautifully unspoiled natural riparian setting, visitors enjoy many year-round water activities on the Sacramento as well as wildlife watching and hiking. A very special aspect of the park--its 186 acre nature preserve on the west bank--offers refuge to our nation’s very own Bald Eagle as well as many other birds and flora/fauna, and incredible insight into one of the few remaining native riparian areas in all of California.
