Off-leash friendly
Pets can be off-leash at this Hipcamp.
You can pick veggies, or fruit from our large garden. Or sneak a couple of eggs from our chickens. I usually have a loaf of organic naturally leavened bread to purchase. There is a walk down the hill to a tunnel under the highway that takes you to a small pond above the ocean. Many creeks and remote walks.Re-wild yourself. Handmade Cob cabin, solar lights, with a beautiful outdoor shower and outhouse. Camp stove and sink for tea and coffee use . Bring your own pots, dishes and silverware approx. 1/4 of a mile above the ocean. You can hear the seals and waves., incredible dark night skies. There are many walks without getting in your car, or drive either direction to restraints, stores, beaches and rivers. Herbs and veggies are available from the farm. In the fall you are welcome to harvest some fruit to eat off our one hundred fruit trees. Fires are restricted.

The Cob House - Farmstay 40 acres
Relaxing Retreat
We spent a lovely couple of nights at Katie's cob cabin. The cabin is situated in such a serene setting with the sound of the ocean nearby, and you can explore some great walking paths without needing your car. Katie herself is incredibly welcoming and accommodating, which added to the overall fantastic experience. The cabin remains comfortably cool even on hot days, providing a peaceful night's sleep. Our dog was as pleased with the stay as we were! If you're looking for a peaceful off-grid break, Katie's cob cabin comes highly recommended.

Perfect blend: camping and comfort
This spot is magical! It's like camping in a Victorian B&B. The impossibly clean cob house has a full wrought iron bed and fluffy comforter, dresser, books, strings of solar lights, lanterns to carry around, and a propane heater (if you need it -- the house seems well-insulated). Katie has created such a thoughtful space, with everything you need: sheltered camping stove and kitchen/sink area, the amazing tree stump shower, and a hammock in the shadiest redwood grove for midday. Bring plates and pots for cooking, and a cooler. They have the propane, tea kettle, tea, silverware, salt/pepper/olive oil. Katie might even have some vegetables for you from her gardens. Consider bringing camp chairs if you want to sit in the shade (the picnic table is in full sun and PERFECT for nighttime star gazing -- I've never seen the Milky Way so clearly) There are three working dogs and a couple farm cats on the property; they'll stay with Katie, but you'll meet them when you wander near the house. As a woman, this is a safe place to exhale, soak it in, and let your guard down. IYKYK. I've stayed at dozens of Hipcamps and this is one of my favorites. I can't wait to go back.

Charming!
What a beautiful place! We enjoyed three peaceful nights at Katie's cob house on Roseman Creek Ranch. Both the cob house and the kitchen house were built with such a charming sense of design. The shower is enchanting. The gardens are delightful - I took notes. Lots to explore in the area. A couple of our favorites are the Cove Coffee house and the New Museum brewery.

The Cob House - Farmstay 40 acres
The Cob House was perfect! We had such a beautiful weekend cozying up in the house, exploring/hiking on the property and in the surrounding towns, and hanging out with all of the sweet animals around the farm (dogs, cats, chickens, and the funniest horse you'll ever meet!) And Katie was such a phenomenal host. We could not have asked for a better weekend away.

The Cob House - Farmstay 40 acres
The Cob House was exactly what we needed for a quiet weekend away. The little house is comfortable, warm, and bright. The land is beautiful with plenty of access to nearby trails and parks. Katie and her menagerie were warm and hospitable. I would absolutely consider staying here again.

The Cob House - Farmstay 40 acres
We came here to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and we had the loveliest time. Their garden was a dream with all the veggies they had and flowers to come. They also had chickens roaming (whose delicious eggs I had for breakfast!), with cats, dogs, and horse following us throughout the tour :) It was a trip! Buttercup the horse was an instant favorite with my boyfriend. How often do you get to meet one and how often do they behave like a loving pup! The cob house was such a cool set up; very warm and extremely peaceful. We don't usually shower during our camping trips but the outdoor shower was an awesome experience. It gets pretty chilly if you're not directly under the water but you get a refreshing feeling after! Katie mentioned there were plenty hikes in all directions but we didn't venture too far. We mostly cooked, ate, took photos, and hung out in the sun. It was a bit of a trek from San Francisco, about 3 hours, but we made a lot of pitstops in several towns and beaches that it didn't feel that long. The land and trees were beautiful, especially the sounds it made in the wind. Katie was super chill and friendly through and through. She made sure we had all the information we needed to get there and that we'd have a good time during our stay. We had so much fun and can't wait to come back when we get the chance!
