Nisene State Park and the Aptos Mountains used to be owned by one big family in the late 1800's. It was cattle land until the late 60's when finally the family members started selling of pieces of their cattle ranch. It's special up in these mountains because they still feel remote, and protected. Neighbors know each other, and throughout the winters you end up helping each other out, and having potlucks. The wild life is great to watch, but safe as we have never had any negative people/ nature interactions. We are located near one of the best barbeque spots in the bay (nope I won't share unless you stay here, sorry lol!), they have live music 5 nights a week. Near coffeeshops, grocery stores, gas stations, etc... You just have to grab what you need and always head up the hill with at least a half tank of gas. There is a solar charging spot for cell phones and laptop tops, but you have to keep track of them. Look forward to meeting you! Ro
