If you've ever wondered what it might be like to camp on the moon, this is it. Completely removed from civilization and surrounded by a barren nature that is alive with the subtle presence of the universe. Seasonally, Spring wildflowers burst across the landscape. Cave paintings of Chumash Indians remind us of those who lived before us. This is where the deer and the antelope play. Our Carrizo Camp is surrounded by the Carrizo Plains National Monument. This is truly a get away from it all camping. That's it. You, the coyotes and your own private moon. Our Songdog Camps are sparsely scattered atop a 200 foot mesa that looks west over a valley offering stunning desert sunsets. Our Ranch House and Glampsites are available on occasion. This is our home but we love to share our life in the outback. We believe it will give you a better appreciation of life's simpler side. This land was sparsely populated by the Chumash Indian and is evident by the numerous cave painting that remain here near the Caliente mountain. In the era of the California Missions, this land was a part of the Spanish land grants. Currently the property is privately owned and is adjacent to large sections of publicly held lands.

The Barbeque
Fun Spring Campout with friends!
Our stay at the Barbecue was perfect ! The flowers views and amenities were exceptional! Great kitchen area with sink for cooking and hanging out! Night campfire was perfect for our group of twenty friends! Easily accommodated 6 cars - plenty of flat areas for tents.

Grand View
10/10 loved the Grand View!
Looved this campsite!! We camped 1st week of April and it was so beautiful! I think with the more frequent rains everything was in BLOOM. Getting there - just a heads up for those 2WDs!!! once u turn off of the main road to the road into the property it does get a bit bumpy and u have to cross a dry creek and go up about a 200ft dirt road to get atop the mesa, but we were able to do it just fine! And we saw that the hosts maintain the road and flaten down the roads to make it nice and smooth Views - we stayed at the Grand View site 10/10!! The sunsets were dreamy. And it does feel like you get a 360 view! So beautiful. Privacy - at the site it felt like we had soo much space to ourselves and had a great amount of privacy, but also didn't feel like we were completely secluded with neighboring campsite a little ways away. Bugs - honestly, not as many bugs as I was expecting! It's nature so u cant expect them to be nonexistent when camping lol. We also saw a giant moth at night which was beautiful! Soo bugs are there, just not a whole swarm of them when we were there. Site - great site, there was plenty of areas to put your tent all having a great view. It had a picnic table, 2 comfy chairs, a fireplace, and a large trash bin! Bathroom - the outhouse closest to our site was very well maintained and always clean! It is a little bit of a walk but nothing crazy! Overall, for being new to the camping thing we absolutely love this site and will be coming backk!!

Beautiful Place!
Great place to camp. Love the view, the shade, the fireplace. Very clean. Love the new double bathroom. Not as rustic, but much better than just one. Thanks again!
