Staying on a private ranch along the California coastline is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Nestled between Gualala and Mendocino, Casari Ranch is a 532 acre Agricultural Preserve and features beautiful pastures, forests, wildlife, and ocean views. The west border of the ranch is less than a block from the ocean itself. There are several beaches nearby and several walking trails on the property. Point Arena has some of the best surfing and diving locations within minutes north and south along the coast.
Point Arena is located 15 minutes north of the Sonoma-Mendocino County border along Coastal Highway 1, a California Scenic route along the Pacific Ocean. Our ranch is located about 2 blocks before (south) of the town of Point Arena. The Point Arena lighthouse was recently made a national monument by President Obama. It is the closest point to Hawaii and the U.S. ran the first telephone cable under the ocean from Point Arena to Hawaii in the 1940’s. There is a stunning ocean bluff walk between the town of Point Arena and the lighthouse. Point Arena has a small organic grocery and deli, liquor store, pharmacy, gallery, deli, bank, gas station, herb shop, several restaurants, a bakery and coffee shops.
The wine country of Anderson Valley is within an hour of the ranch, if you like wine tasting, and also the Anderson Valley Brewery in Booneville for beer enthusiasts. The neighboring town of Gualala, just 15 minutes south on Hwy 1, boasts numerous, galleries, eateries, grocery stores, gas stations, kayak companies, etc. Mendocino, north of Point Arena is a destination location on the coastline and is well known for its art galleries, fine dining and shops along the ocean. Redwood forests are unique to our coastline and are a must do activity to visit. So there is a lot to do and see while you are here!
