We are a small privately owned campground ( on the outskirts of Placerville. The property features 86.5 secluded Tahoe like acres with beautiful year-round Weber Creek. The camp sites are placed along the creek or the bluff overlooking the creek. We have traditional dirt camping, canvas tents on platforms, teepees and glamping tents for those that want the comforts of home. We are tent camping only with only one site that allows a small travel trailer or van. (#14) . We are dog friendly and allow dogs in all but 5 glamping sites. We do enforce camp rules especially our quiet time between 10 PM and 7 AM We’ve been told that we have a “family camp” vibe. We are a great place for families wanting a safe environment for their kids but also several group sites for those that want to hang out together with multiple families. We are also a great base site for those wilderness enthusiasts with access to all the El Dorado National Forest including Desolation but want a hot shower at the end of the day. We have a lodge that is stocked with games and a ping pong table. The lodge has a microwave, Keurig machine and a hot water kettle for those hot drinks (BYO Cups).We have several tables set up for those that want to eat inside as well as multiple picnic tables along the side of the lodge with overhead protection. We have electricity at the at the lodge for small appliances and charging phones. We have a compressor on site to blow up your air mattresses or float toys. We’ve been told that our bathrooms are the “cleanest” ever and have changing tables and diaper pails. We offer nice flushing toilets and hot showers! We have many extra amenities including a compressor to use for your air mattresses, For outdoor activities we have basketball, volleyball, pickleball and cornhole not to mention the playground with swing set . We have hiking trails throughout the property. Our highlight is a camp fire bowl with bench seating with a stage to display camper talent which is perfect for the evening fire and roasting s’mores (bring the fixings). The creek starts out in spring looking like a rushing river featuring many fishing and swimming holes. As the summer progresses the water level falls but is still great for water play and fishing. We have propane BBQs (we provide the propane for BBQs) located throughout the property. We also have a propane grill and charcoal BBQ located in the common area for all to use. There is a dutch oven pit also in the fire bowl area. We do not allow wood fires at the individual sites but each site has a propane firepit for ambiance (not cooking) that requires you to purchase a 20 lb. propane cannister on site (add in extras) or pay cash on site. No internet service. There is limited internet only available for purchases at the setore. We require a 3 night minimum for the major holidays - Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day. We do exclusive events so you may need to explore multiple weekends to find the right reservation. We are located in the foothills so we are a short hop to many local attractions that include river rafting, gold mines, wineries and historical towns with great eating establishments. Tahoe is less than an hour away and there a many hiking trails within 20-30 minutes. We have a limited number of items to rent i.e, tents, cots, camp stoves, etc. We rent a battery pack for those that use a cpap. We also have a small store on site for those items you forgot and a good selection of ice cream and ice. We take venmo or cash.

This large camping site is located behind the fire bowl area with it's own privacy fence and is a very private large site. It will allow up to 2 large tents to be set up. It does require transporting your items via carts that we provide to the other side of the creek. This is a great site for a large family or two families that want to camp together. We have 10x10 platform to place a tent on at the site if desired. Outside the tent there is a propane firepit for ambiance (to use the firepit it requires the onsite purchase of propane - add as an extra) . The site has a long picnic table and its own BBQ. #7 Nex Pierce - Group Tent Site This is a group campsite. It is located across the bridge and up the hill on a level site. It is one of three group site (the others are #14 and the large group site #17). This site accommodates a base of 10 campers but you can add up to 2 additional campers. It is a nice square site that can accommodate several large tents. We provide carts to help you transport your equipment. If you need to accommodate a few more campers - check out #8 that is right nearby. Often we have large groups (over 20) that book #7, #8 #15 and #15A that ensures they have the entire second level to themselves. This group site is also good for those with small children that do not want them on the creek. This site has 2 picnic tables, its own BBQ (we provide the propane) and food box (for unopened food items). #17 Modoc - group camping on creek This is our largest group site that can accommodate a base of 10 campers but you can add up to 10 additional campers (long and narrow). There are two other group sites - #14 is across the road and creek and #7 is up on the plateau. If your group is larger than 20 we would recommend considering #7 (12), #8 (6) and #15 (8) and #15A (4) - that can accommodate up to 30 all on the plateau. This site provides more privacy and is located by itself along the river. It is across from the volleyball court and playground. It is a long site and easily allows for 2 large tents and multiple medium tents along the creek. It is further away from the majority of campers and requires a short walk (approximately 4 minutes) to the lodge and restrooms. There is a portapotty about 1 minute away. This site allows you to park two vehicles next to your site and and additional cars nearby.. We provide several picnic tables and a propane fire pit for ambiance not cooking (requires purchase of propane cannister on site). The site has its own BBQ (we provide the propane) and two picnic tables. It also has a large food box for storage for unopened food items). This site accommodates a base of 10 campers but you can add up to 2 additional campers. There are two other group sites - #17 (largest) and is across the road and creek and #7 that located on the plateau. There is a large platform (16x16) available to pitch one of your tents on the upper level. This site has its own BBQ (we provide the propane) and food box (for unopened food items). The site also has a propane firepit for ambiance (this requires the purchase of propane on site - add in extras). The site is private and is further away from the majority of campers and requires a short walk (approximately 4 minutes) to the lodge/restrooms. The handicapped porta-potty is 1 minute. This site is next to the basketball court, next to the Camp Host and across from Site 17 - a group camping site on the other side of the creek. This is a very narrow spot that is right between the basketball court and the creek. THE MAXIMUM FOOTPRINT IS 12' X 24'. There is a very nice handicapped porta potty within 100 yards of the site and the lodge and restroom/showers are a 2 minute walk. #3 Miwok - Large Family Teepee Creekside (NO PETS). Come experience a real teepee. This 18' teepee is located across from the creek and is centrally located right across the bridge from the lodge and restrooms. It is right next to a slightly smaller 16' teepee (#13).   This teepee was upgraded and replaced in Spring 2023.  We do not allow pets in our teepees. It is perfect for the family experience. Inside we provide four thick comfy mats covered in a sheet and 2 teepee chairs.  We provide towels and amenities. All you have to do is bring your own sleeping bags and cooking supplies.  This space will allow 4 in the teepee. #13 Miwok - Teepee Creekside (NO PETS). Come experience a real teepee. This 14' teepee is located across from the creek and is centrally located right across the bridge from the lodge and restrooms. It is right next to our other family teepee (#3). This teepee was upgraded and replaced in Spring 2024. We do not allow pets in our teepees. It is perfect for the family experience. Inside we provide four thick comfy mats covered in a sheet and 2 chairs. We provide towels and amenities. All you have to do is bring your own sleeping bags and cooking supplies. This space will allow 4 in the teepee. Outside of the teepee we provide 4 andirondack chairs that sit around a propane fire pit for ambience only (requires the purchase of propane on site - add as an extra). #9 Pueblo Canvas Mini Glamping Tent on Creek This Mini Glamping Safari Tent is located across the bridge, left and is the second to last site along the creek.  It passes #4, #5, #6, and #6A and has #10 on the other side.   Only those with reservations in #9 and #10 are allowed in this area.   The 10 x 12 safari tent is located on a platform and allows you to open both sides that are meshed to allow ventilation.  The tent features a double bed and a small table and chairs.   We provide the bedding, towels and amenities.   There is a cot for a third person/child. Outside the tent there is a propane firepit for ambiance (to use the firepit it requires the onsite purchase of propane - add as an extra) with 2 andirondack chairs.  The site has a small picnic table as well as your own hammock to take that afternoon nap!  Did I mention that you have the entire creek as your front door?  #9 and #10 share a BBQ and there is a wood food box to store your unopened items. BELL TENT site was added May 2024. This particular site has easy access located directly across the bridge from the lodge and restrooms. The bell tent is located right along the creek located near the tipis #13 and #3 as well as directly below #3A. This is a 14' White Duck Altimus (combines a bell tent with a tent cabin) that features a large doorway as mosquito netting for good ventilation. We love this tent because it brings together the best of the bell and cabin tent together. The site accommodates and provides cots for 4 and allows an additional two guests in a small tent next to the structure. Outside the tent we provide a propane firepit (that requires the purchase of propane on site - add as an extra) as well as a picnic table. We upgraded this site in 2024 from a tent camping site to a new Tree Fort. The space is 8 x 9 so a little smaller and so we set it up with a bunkbed cot and then 2 4" sleeping mats (same as our teepees and can stack) that accommodate up to 4 people. Come experience a new adventure sleeping up in the trees. This is a site located between the pathway between the creekside and plateau sites. You get to it by passing over the bridge, past the teepees and halfway up the slope to the plateau sites. It is a smaller site located above #3 and below #7/8. During the spring it has its own creek that run along the side of it off the hillside. The site has its own picnic table along and has access to a shared BBQ (which we provide the propane). There is a propane fire pit that is available for ambiance (requires the purchase of propane on site - add as an extra). Check in is between 3-9 and checkout 11:00 am. There is one car parking space per 4 registered guests. You can purchase early and late checkout as well as another parking space as "extras". The campsite was great! Greg and his team were helpful and run a great facility. I hope next visit I will meet Laurie. The bathrooms were always clean and stocked and having a dish sink was so nice. The property had plenty to entertain our group of 8 adults, 9 kids and 2 dogs. We will definitely be back.

This was our first experience with camping at a camp such as Nauvoo. The hosts were amazing and more than accommodating. One of the hosts even walked my dog for me while we unpacked our equipment. The campsite and bathrooms were really clean and well maintained and there is plenty of wildlife. My son and I had a blast catching crawdads and lizards and I even caught a decent sized brown trout! Amazing experience, highly recommend

This was our first time camping with our two-year-old daughter, and Laurie, Greg, and the entire host team made the experience so much more special. You can really feel the care and attention they put into every detail. The campground is very well organized and has such a peaceful, welcoming energy. Everything felt thoughtfully maintained, and the bathrooms were always clean. We were also there to celebrate our daughter’s second birthday, and on Saturday, during the community campfire, they surprised us with an incredibly thoughtful gesture to celebrate her with us. It was such a simple but meaningful moment. Experiences like this remind us how much connection can be found in simple moments and in people taking the time to truly see and care for one another. It brought such a beautiful sense of humanity to our weekend. We left with wonderful memories and are very grateful to Laurie, Greg, and everyone who helped make our daughter’s first camping trip and her second birthday so special. We will absolutely come back.

It's a very nice, earthy-looking campground! It was my first time camping here, and I had a really nice time staying. They provide BBQ grill with a full tank; they also provide a fire pit, although you will need to rent another tank if you don't have one to bring with you. You will need to walk to your campsite. If you have a lot of things, they provide a cart or even offer you a golf cart ride if you do stay on a plateau for the uphill. Very family friendly!

This is our second time camping here and we loved it even more this time around. We stayed at site #5 and was exactly how it was described. We love how convenient and close the grills were to us. The restrooms and showers were clean and kept up well. Greg and Charles were great!! One afternoon we seemed to have more wasps then usual, but Greg immediately placed a wasp catcher and it helped tremendously. Greg also surprised my wife with a cupcake for us to celebrate her birthday! We brought a friend that stayed next to us at site 4 and they loved it as well. We are definitely coming back and will refer Camp Nauvoo to our friends and family!

Camp Nauvoo is absolute camping perfection! We just got back from an incredible stay, and I can easily say this is one of the best family-friendly Hipcamp spots we’ve ever visited. The setup here makes camping with a family completely stress-free: Top-Notch Amenities: Clean bathrooms are a make-or-break for us, and the facilities here were spotless. The onsite cooking facilities made meal prep a breeze, and having access to the lodge for indoor dining was a absolute game-changer for comfortable family meals. Non-Stop Onsite Fun: The kids were entertained from morning until night. Between the basketball and pickleball courts, ping pong tables, and a massive grassy field for games, no one ever uttered the words "I'm bored." Creek & Swimming Holes: The onsite creek was peaceful and great for fishing. Plus, it’s an easy, short walk to fantastic nearby swimming holes where the whole family could wade around and cool off. Camp Nauvoo nails the balance between getting out into nature and having all the right comforts. We're already planning our next trip back!

Just finished our 6th annual trip to camp Nauvoo and it just keeps getting better. We tried out the bell tent this year and it was perfect. Plenty of room inside to stand up and walk around, and space outside for an extra tent. We are so grateful to Greg for building such a special place that our kids get to experience for their childhood. They are always begging to come back. See you next year!

We absolutely loved our stay! Site #7 was perfect — plenty of room for 4+ tents and all the extra gear we brought along. Far enough from the commotion, but close enough to the amenities. And somehow, even in the midst of the August heat, the site never felt too hot, which made hanging out at camp so enjoyable. Greg was an incredible host and truly went above and beyond. He helped us lug all of our stuff out to the site and even took the time to push our kids on the swingset. He was so great with the kids that we’ve officially dubbed him “Uncle Greg”! Those little touches made us feel incredibly welcome and made the whole stay that much more special. It was such an easy, relaxing, family-friendly camping experience. We’d happily stay here again and recommend it in a heartbeat. Thanks for everything, Uncle Greg!

What a gem of a campground! Friendly and helpful staff, cozy sites, lots of amenities, and a convenient distance to town. We really enjoyed the gas campfire option for a smoke-free camping ambience. The swimming hole was the perfect spot to cool off and kid friendly (my son really enjoyed catching and releasing the crayfish that live there). Pet and kid-friendly, we highly recommend and will be back!

Our 2026 family trip was an absolute success! We can't thank Greg and his team enough for their incredible hospitality throughout our stay. From start to finish, they were friendly, responsive, and genuinely made us feel welcomed and at home. The property was a wonderful place for our family to relax, make memories, and enjoy our vacation together. One thing future guests may want to keep in mind is the presence of wasps outdoors, so it's a good idea to cover food promptly when dining outside. Other than that, everything was fantastic! We had an amazing experience and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable, welcoming, and memorable getaway. We would gladly stay here again!

Site #8 gets too much sun during the day. Crazy hot. We hated it. Not even a bit of shade when its really sunny. Also the floor is not properly leveled. So our tent and mattress was sitting at an angle and we didn’t sleep well. Everything else about Camp Nauvoo is really good. All the glamping sites are very good in terms of shade.

This was a well kept campground with lots of creature comforts available via the small on site store as well as added extras offered by the hosts Greg & Laurie. I found them to be courteous, kind & patient with my children. I appreciated the opportunity to be surrounded by beautiful nature and still sleep in a bed. I would recommend renting the my buddy heater or bringing one because it does get very chilly at night. My children had plenty to do over a 2 day stay. I think that having no wifi is a bonus because I was able to connect more with my kids. The bathrooms are very clean for a campground. Potentially they could be checked during high traffic times because there are alot of people using them. Everything was very organized in the camp. My kids loved the meadow and the playground. I never quite figured out how to hookup the propane fire pit so I should have saved my money on that. Blackberries were spectacular. Creek is awesome. Bugs were minimal. I would stay here again.

We had a fabulous stay at site #17 at Camp Nauvoo! The creek was so beautiful and provided a ton of fun for the kids in our group (ages 7-14). We also enjoyed the volleyball court, meadow, swings, and hike up the mountain. Greg was a great host, super helpful and welcoming. We’ll be back!

Loved the site. Trees gave us great shade and #12 is away from the other sites so really quiet unless they are doing a camp fire but that is for only a short amount of time. Kids loved the creek and the hike was great too. Very clean bathrooms and not too far from home. Had a great time.

Had a great time with the family (2 adults and 3 small kids). The campsite was great, mostly due to the immediate access to the creek. We put our folding chairs in the creek and enjoyed the beautiful scenery while we cooled down in the water. The only thing that wasn’t great was there was only one way to our site and we had to walk through the middle of someone else’s campsite. Not the worst thing just a little awkward. But all in all, we had a great time. It’s a clean and safe camp. We were able to send out kids to play in the play ground on their own. Definitely will come back again.
