Started in 2014 by Tim and Michelle Borland and their three kids, the Bar SZ Ranch is a true family business with a mission to help others “forge their legacy.” Set on 2200-acres in its own valley with iconic California oak trees and golden hills; views of the surrounding mountains and Pinnacles National Park; and painted, sunlit skies guests can't get enough of, this working ranch offers unique, getaway camping and glamping experiences for both new and seasoned campers. The Bar SZ Campground is near Pinnacles National Park but relatively remote from other services, which is part of what makes the area so special. It is a place to unplug, share stories and spend time with your family and friends, and explore the wilderness of California. Campsite #6 - Camp Near Pinnacles National Park
Amazing camping near Pinnacles!
What an incredible place to stay! They had everything you could need, and their staff was so so nice. I also love horses and was so happy to be able to see a stable with horses, sheep, goats, and chickens while we were staying! Couldn’t recommend this place more. Plus it’s really close to Pinnacles National Park!!

Campsite #6 - Camp Near Pinnacles National Park
Tent camping on the ranch was wonderful! There were some shared amenities (sinks, potable water, grills, trash). The land was lovely, and the campsite was very conveniently close to Pinnacles. Great experience for the price.

A Gem in the Valley near Pinnacles
This campsite was so beautiful! It's just a short drive from Pinnacles, but almost as beautiful! It's a completely different landscape where you are sleeping in between a beautiful valley. The camp spots are large. We were 3 families sharing 2 spots and had plenty of room. Also great amenities- water, wood, burn pit, grills, toaster, coffee pot, etc. Lots of room for children to run and play. All of our kids loved seeing the animals on the ranch. The ranch hands were super kind. They let the kids feed bunnies, hold baby chicks, and pet goats. Our kids were in awe! Definitely a lasting impression! If I have to say anything negative at all it would be that 1. bathrooms are only porta-johns. They were pretty clean, but still... porta johns. 2. The ranch is located deep in a valley with what appears to be a few homesteads. We were there the Saturday of Labor Day weekend and one of these homes in the valley had a very loud party. Curfew for the camp is 10pm which all the campers respected, but we still heard music and laughing well into the night. It's definitely not Bar SZ's fault and is out of their control, but these are definitely the absolute only two downsides of this property. All that aside, if we ever want to camp near Pinnacles again I would still choose this site. I would probably choose it over Pinnacles itself since it's such a gem.

Tent camping here was great. Though it was hot, there was a stream nearby we could cool off by. Additionally, the owners were friendly and gave good recommendations for places to see the meteor shower. Hope to come pet animals again!
