Named one of the best Hipcamps to visit in 2023.
We live on 2 private acres completely surrounded by Elk Lake Regional Park. There are 3 generations of family living here as well as 2 dogs, a one-eyed cat, and 19 chickens! Our campsite is in a beautiful location situated 20 minutes from the Swartz Bay Ferry terminal and downtown Victoria.  PLEASE NOTE: we are an RV-only campsite! NO tent campers as there are no bathroom facilities on site. Access to great hiking just out your door at Elk Lake Regional Park (a 5 min walk to the beach for a swim, paddle, or fish at the nearby fishing dock) and Bear Hill Regional Park (20 min hike through fir and arbutus trees with beautiful views of the peninsula from the top). 10 minutes to Butchart gardens, with Butterfly Garden on the way.  Ideal spot for campers looking to stay 1-2 nights. Great as a stopover to Tofino. Perfect for couples or groups of two, with a maximum of 4 campers. There are many wonderful farms and stands, wineries, coffee shops, and restaurants close by. Your site is a semi-private flat gravel area surrounded by fir trees. Easy access and plenty of turnaround room.

Perfect location to stay a few nights and still be close to everything. Matt greeted us as we arrived, and Jody kept us us informed.

Surrounded by Nature!
perfect spot!
Jody's spot was fantastic! So close to the lake and super charming with a garden and lovely lighting. There are lots of levelling blocks supplied to help on the uneven surfaces. Jody brought a 15 amp extension cord for me to plug into. I loved listening to the roosters when having my coffee. Walking my dogs at the lake was a highlight each day. There is a 10km trail around the lake. Jody was incredible helping to let the dogs out for potty breaks while I worked during the day. The spot is close to the ferries and plenty of grocery options nearby. I arrived after dark and if following GPS make sure you go a bit further as the GPS stopped me about 150 meters before the driveway and it was a bit hard to see the number but Jody was there to help me. She was also a great help helping me get parked. If you have a trailer aver 20' and a long truck, you will need two people helping you back out. I had difficulty getting turned around and out as Jody and her family were away the day I left. If you have a partner with you you will be fine. I highly recommend this gem of a spot.

Surrounded by Nature!
We stayed in our truck camper for 2 nights and would definitely stay again. The spot isn’t very big but it totally suited our needs, and we liked the lights outside. Jody and Matt were friendly and communicative before and during our stay, even giving us some great mtb trail recommendations. The lake trail couldn’t be closer and it’s lovely.

Surrounded by Nature!
The owner was friendly and helpful when we arrived, showing us where to park and to get backed into the site between the trees. The site was not very level but they supplied some boards. The site is close to the road with a fair amount of traffic. The power was supplied through two long extension cords from their house and it flucuated. The best feature was being close to a great trail along the lake and it did fill our needs, with easy access to Sidney.

Surrounded by Nature!
Jody is a great host and the spot is close to a very nice lake. The few cars passing by didn’t bother us and traffic is quite at night. We enjoyed it and will be back.
