Learn more about this land: Enjoy camping at Shaker Acres! Bring your own tent, trailer, or RV. If you're bringing an RV or trailer, we can accommodate vehicles up to 45ft in length and the campsites are level. Electrical, water, sewage, and TV hookups are all available. Amenities include potable water, a kitchen, shower, picnic table, wifi, and laundry. Right in the heart of the Cariboo just off the Fishing Highway, #24. Great fishing, hunting, hiking, swimming, water skiing, and horseback riding nearby. There are cows and chickens on the property and we provide free eggs for breakfast. Friendly local owner who owns nearby restaurant, car wash and Sani-dump. Cheesemaking, bread making and baking cooking classes available using farm and local ingredients.Liquor store, gas station, grocery store Ice Cream shop all only 2 kilometres away. Your host can provide a special meal/BBQ with prior arrangement. Can also provide smaller amounts of all staples so you don’t need to buy a whole bag of flour, sugar etc. We have a variety of inflatable float toys and water games for the lake (2km away). 30 lb trout are caught in this lake!! It is a huge lake so there is plenty of room for everyone. Fishermen, skiers, swimmers, paddle boarders. Fire pit available when no bans are on. Plenty of free wood... you collect 😁😁 Beautiful starlit skies at night. Marsh 50 meters away with a huge variety of birds and frogs so very musical in the mornings and evenings. Host also operates a small drive-in theatre on weekends 2 km away and will provide transportation if requested. The host will consider any request and with enough notice can plan and provide anything you need!!!

Decent Stop-Over with the Basics

A nice stopping point to break up a drive when traversing highway 97, or a base camp for exploring the many lakes of highway 24, Shaker Acres has the essentials, but is a tad cluttered in some spots. Across the property, there's a variety of areas to set up camp whether tenting or RVing, with amenities available including a bathroom located in the basement of the house. A plethora of old vehicles make for an interesting backdrop while exploring the property, and one will be sure to have at least one of the very excited (sometimes a bit over-bearing) dogs joining on any walk. Nearby attractions abound, including the Bridge Lake Ice Caves, well worth checking out.

Beautiful :)

Beautiful area - great hosts - cute dog. No light pollution, quiet and extremely friendly and welcoming. I would definitely stay here again if I'm traveling Hwy 24.

The hostest of the mostest!

Sandi was super down to earth and made us feel welcome and at home. Really appreciated the farm fresh eggs that was a nice morning treat! She let our daughter’s go to the coop to feed the chickens and collect eggs, they had a lot of fun doing that. Her dogs were all so sweet and very friendly, her one pup would jump into our tent and slather my wife’s face with morning kisses (we got a kick out of that and didn’t mind at all!) It was very quiet at night and had a good sleep. Her place is great for star gazing FYI.
