Our ideal location by the lake allows for swimming, kayaking and paddleboarding. We have seasonal gardens that you can pick fresh produce from - check with the host for seasonal vegetation. Feed the birds, get dirt under your fingernails, sleep in a tent, drive to the mountains (about an hour away!) and take a hike. . Enjoy Alaska, that's what this getaway is all about - we look forward to your stay! You cannot drive to the tent sites it’s park and walk but they aren’t far, 500ft at most. There’s no water on site but we can grab you a few gallons if you need. You will need to have contact with the host before coming as the neighborhood is gated!

Campsite includes a 2 Hour Historical Mushing and Mining Tour at 10am the following day where you will meet a few of our 44 sled dogs, who we call “Rock Stars” and learn about Mushing, the state sport of Alaska, from a family of Mushers. You will also learn about past mining in the area and pan for your own gold, and keep what you find. Lush green ferns grow beside a quiet creek where a nature path winds through the woods, amongst berry bushes, that you can walk on. There is a communal bonfire depending on weather conditions, provided by the host. New outhouses will be constructed before the opening of June camping, We still have a lot of snow currently and more photos will be taken once it melts. This is an authentic Alaskan experience that may have you wanting to come back in the winter to go mushing with us!

Don’t you love it when gorgeous land isn’t well-suited for human development? Well, we sure do! Nancy Lake Recreation Area is too wet for cultivation, and it’s not loaded up with valuable minerals. That’s excellent news for nature lovers, because this place is purely for recreation and appreciating the outdoors. Its unique landscape is flat and full of lakes with magnificent, clear waters, surrounded by untouched forest. Canoeing, fishing, hiking, and camping are excellent options for summertime fun, but winter has its own charms. The topography is perfect for activities like cross-country skiing and dog mushing. And, you can find it a mere 90 minutes away from Anchorage.
