Our family had a great time camping on the Back Forty. Keith, the host, met us on arrival, told us where to go, and even gave us a fresh tomato from his garden. We camped one night with our two young children. The outhouse with the composting toilet was clean and easy to use. The outdoor shower (not enclosed but no one can see except for your camping mates and the cows that come right up to the fence to watch you:) was refreshing. We had a great time on this beautiful piece of land.
Keith was great. We came in a little late and he met us, gave us some instructions and got us situated. Nice quiet spot at the edge of a field near a stream. Got a good nights sleep and headed off to an adventure race the next day. Thanks Keith!
Perfect camping experience
The site is great. Perfect for camping. It's back in a field, plenty of shade and privacy. The camping area was mowed and the ground was dry and we'll drained. There was a water faucet and the composting toilet was clean and got plenty of light. Keith was very responsive and helpful to calls when I needed a bit of help finding the site. Great host.
Unbeatable location, fun experience
Came here to camp with a group of 5. We were looking to spend the weekend at the beach, but didn't want to drop hundreds of dollars on accommodations. This was a great solution and we all had such a great time! The location was only about 20 minutes from Rehoboth/Dewey Beach.
Keith was extremely responsive; usually texted me back immediately. He provided firewood, 2 chairs, a charcoal grill, and charcoal.
The property was huge and we camped way back far away from the houses. Our group really appreciated the isolation as we can sometimes get really loud when we play board games. We returned from the beach around 6pm and spent the entire rest of the night grilling, sitting around the campfire, sharing stories, playing games, and gazing at the stars. Such a great experience!
The composting toilet is housed in a little outhouse right next to the campsite and was kept very clean. No unpleasant odors at all. There was an outdoor shower available as well.
I definitely recommend this place and would absolutely come back again!
Simple, quaint campsite
The campsite was fairly private, remote, and simplistic. The outhouse was well-maintained and the property is quaint with a creek and woods running alongside the campsite. To get to the site, you do need to drive on a fairly long gravel and then dirt/grass pathway. That was really the only downside. Overall, it was a good experience.
The perfect getaway..
We truly enjoyed our stay here! It was just as described in the listing and Keith was a great host. He responded quickly to any questions or concerns we had. Site was private and the views during the day and at night were unmatched. We pitched our tent in a great spot and there was so much space to set up a fire and relax. Shower was helpful for a quick wash in the morning and before bed and the outhouse was kept clean. It's super close to all the local beaches and shopping so taking a day trip into town is so easy. We definitely plan to come back again.
Keith is kind and helpful host
Keith is a very kind and helpful host. He made a fire for us upon our arrival. We had a nice stay for our one night there and felt safe, Really nice to camp and sleep amongst the singing crickets and fresh air.
We were just passing through and needed a place to crash for the evening, and this was perfect. Keith has a beautiful, large property that immediately set us at ease, and in a great location as well. With a beer garden up the road, a heavy hitting brewery in town, and being minutes away from the beaches, how could you go wrong? We would definitely come back to this spot (preferably with a kayak and fishing pole) to explore the water behind him, and more time too!
