Our farm is host to wild critters as well as our farm animals. There will always be someone to pet, feed or observe during your stay!
Remnants of an old stone mill and 1920's vehicle are a 15-20 minute walk away from camp, right on a creek with a rock scramble and swimming hole! After a good rain, it's common to find old glass bottles, and more artifacts from days gone by.
We started on this land in 2019 and have been steadily working to create a cooperative farmstead and nature school to share with our community as well as travelers and explorers.
Our space is super kid friendly! Enjoy the animals, treehouse and trails :)

Chicamuxen Creek offers three campsites two directly on-water, and one in our Meadow along a tree line for shade with water access.
Camp Potty for all included in common area. Full restroom hot/cold shower as an extra.
Kayaks are available as extras.
Our Meadow Camp comes with water access and a picnic area on the water.
Water Access for all sites for boat launch kayak rental and use. Shore Fishing, wadding water is not deep 2-3 feet picnic area with table.
Grassing area for tent pitching with fire ring table bench.....best to have some chairs with you to enjoy the stars at night from the middle of the field.
No human waste disposal or animal waste disposal. Do not leave us trash.
Firewood 2023 comes with its own challenges. If you need certain firewood to cook please bring. We are in the woods so we gather firewood all year as well as our guests.
We do offer a full restroom as an add-on extra per stay.
Please contact us for any questions or requests. We are on the water in the woods so safety is very important to us proper footwear is tops.

TreeStar is a great location for Tent Campers and Vehicle Campers. Set up your tent on an open plot or pull your truck or camper directly to the site. Once night settles in don’t forget to look up and gaze at the stars that appear just through the rising treetops. If it’s a cloudy night or you're looking for additional ambiance, you have the option to turn on the battery powered string lights that have been set up throughout the campsite. As an added touch, this time of year you’ll also find seasonal decorations hung through out the trees. This set up gives you the option to glow up the area as a finishing touch with the stars and campfires.
Located on over 50 acres of forested unpopulated land campers have the opportunity to roam the campgrounds to the right of the main trail. While exploring you could hike down and visit the original barns to the property, catch a glimpse of the deer living on the property, and hit the main trail that leads down to...

City Camp on Reedy Creek

Come take a load off at this forested Richmond retreat overlooking Reedy Creek. Set up a tent, car camp, or bring your small trailer to one of two sites on a unique property backed up to 20+ acres of woods. Imagine a hidden gem where you can relax to the sounds of rushing water and chirping birds, but can walk or bike to coffee shops, breweries, restaurants, parks or the river. If you are coming into Richmond for a Brown's Island event we are a five minute Uber to an access point using the Potterfield walking bridge (it's a beautiful walk across the James River to the island).
Each campsite includes 3 level spots to pitch tents (see dimensions below), and a connected space to park one car, van or small trailer. The large parking space can be used as a fourth tent footprint if needed. There are additional parking spaces. Each site has a fire pit (with firewood on site), a grate to grill over the fire, a picnic table, and a hammock. There is a shared outbuilding with a composting toilet, hand washing sink, outdoor shower (solar warmed), and space to change privately.

**Pricing is based on groups of up to four adults or two adults with children.
For groups of five to seven adults there is an additional charge of $10 person per day.
For groups of eight or more we suggest you reserve both sites and have the entire camp to yourselves.
Campsites W and E are about 80' apart. Both are around 100' to the creek. The spots can accommodate a total length (towing vehicle plus trailer) of up to 35 ft.
There is an outdoor spigot with potable water and hoses for clean up. The woodlands and creek adjacent to the campsites have trails that are accessible to the public. You and your furry friends are welcome to use these paths, but know that others may be using them too.
Richmond has so much to offer and we are just a hop, skip, and a jump to many wonderful attractions - kayak or sunbathe on the James River, walk or bike on trails around the city, rock climb, dine, imbibe.
PLEASE NOTE* These sites are on a private property with a house that is visible to campers, but we give our guests complete privacy and don't plan to interact unless you need something from us. While you are on a 2 acre property backed up to a 20 acre wooded area, we are still in the middle of the city and you will hear city sounds.

Spring Hill Farm is located in rural northwest Hanover County/Caroline County Border on the North Anna River in Virginia. We are between the Cities of Fredericksburg to our north and Richmond to our south. This site had Civil War activity throughout the region, especially along the banks of the North Anna. We are an African American family that has owned this property for 5 generations. My late grandparents instilled in me since when I was young the importance of land stewardship. My mother and I
take it very seriously.
We have approximately 140 acres of wooded acreage (plenty of places to pitch a tent) with a couple of trails, one leading to the North Anna River. Except for the local freight trains, and occasional afternoon target shooting from neighboring properties, it is very quiet and peaceful. Boat ramp about 5 miles away. Walking access to river on site and at county line (1 mile). Local attractions within a 20 mile radius are Sassafras Shade Winery, Kings Dominion Theme Park, Virginia State Fairgrounds, Stonewall Jackson Death Site, Dominion Raceway, North Anna Battlefield, Scotchtown (former home of Patrick Henry), Ashland Berry Farm, and Randolph Macon College. Nearest store for groceries and gas is about 5 minutes away in Chilesburg. 10 miles to fast food and pharmacy. If you are so inclined, you could also have the opportunity to volunteer on an organic farm in the spring and summer months. #1 Bicycle Highway (Verdon Rd./State Rt. 684) less than a mile away.
