We have two driveways, one in the front of the property where you will enter, it is exclusively yours. In the back, there is another driveway/entrance that comes in from another street. While we do not have disposal on site, there are two conveniently located RV dumping stations, one 4 miles directly north in Whitefish and one 7 miles directly south in Kalispell. LOCATION: At the edge of Glacier National Park in the Northern Rocky Mountains is a vibrant town built around a shared appreciation of the wild. From the mountains rich with forests, lakes and rivers to the welcoming downtown, this is a place worth exploring and protecting for all those who love it. We are a suburban half-acre, heavily wooded lot conveniently located 10 minutes south of downtown WHITEFISH and 12 minutes north of the hub of KALISPELL. We are only a 25-minute drive to GLACIER NATIONAL PARK. 12 minutes to WHITEFISH LAKE BEACH. 25 minutes to FLATHEAD LAKE BEACH and 15 minutes to LES MASON STATE PARK/BEACH (where dogs are allowed). WHITEFISH MOUNTAIN RESORT is a 20-minute drive up the mountain. A ski resort in the winter, there is a lot to do in the summer: Zip lines, mountain biking, slides for the kids and more - SkiWhitefish.com. The CANADIAN BORDER is only 60 miles north. Go left and you will see the Tipi. Just go in and enjoy. We have no formal check in. Just show up and enjoy.

In the West Kootenai it definitely is! A Place to Stay is simply that! A welcome respite after a long day of travel. By the time you get to the West Kootenai you will appreciate the fact that there is A Place to Stay. A Place to Stay is a simple place to take a load off and nestle in for a day or two while you explore the vast, beautiful wilderness of Montana. A Place to Stay was originally Amish Built by a growing Amish community in the late 90's. You will see and experience some of the little things that are obviously Amish as you explore the property and surrounding areas. We are nestled between the Montana Woodworks, the Amish School House and the Kootenai Kraft & Grocery. You are remote and at the same time in the thick of town life. One of my favorite things to see as I sit at my desk is a cowboy riding a horse while talking on his cell phone. The vast, dark, starry nights are something to behold. Enjoy your stay! Learn more about this land:***Due to Covid we are only accepting reservations from people who have self-supporting campers with toilet/shower combos. There is no access to the house at this time***Our little corner of the world is located in a remote corner of NW Montana just a couple of miles south of the Canadian Border. We have 2.5 acres, nestled between the Amish School House, the Kootenai General Store and the Amish Woodworks shop. The nights are incredibly starry - as if you are traveling through space and can reach out to touch the heavens. Feel free to set up camp anyplace within the green grassy areas. The horses in the pasture belong to the neighbors. Please respect their wishes. There is a fire pit out front as well as a hose and workshop. Hip Campers may use the bath and shower on the main level but please do not disturb the rest of the house as visitors may come and go at various times. Hike up to Mt. Robson or go swimming in the KooCanUSA reservoir. Although very few people live in the area, this is the hub of the village. Being on the West Kootenai is like traveling back in time to the days of Little House on the Prairie.
