We turned this Hipcamp stay into an adventure, leaving NYC from Grand Central and catching the Metro North, a bus and a short taxi to the farm.
When we arrvied Bill, Amy and Fin greeted us warmly with a stroll around the property to pet the animals and pick some raspberries, plus a handful of mint to use as a natural insect repellent.
Nestled down a track, the large yurt is fully private and borders lots of trees with large grassy spot to prep food and sit around a campfire.
Over in the yard goats, ducks, highland cows, a miniature horse became our friends when we sat beside the pond in the evening light, drinks in hand.
Aside from being a private and peaceful sanctuary to relax at, Finnegan's Farm is a space to feel closer to the land, learn about permaculture and resourcefulness.
Heading out, Bill dropped us back in the New Milford township and recommended brunch at the Green Granery which was well worth it.
The welcoming hospitality that Bill, Amy & Fin showed us made this stay one to remember - we'll be back!

My mother, daughter and I all visited the farm as we were drawn to the experience of staying in a yurt. It was well beyond our expectations. Amy and Bill were very helpful and made us feel at home. Would definitely recommend others to visit. 100%!!

Thanks Jenifer! It was a pleasure to host all three generations of your family! Come back anytime!
We loved the place, very relaxing! Amy and Bill are very gracious hosts; everything was very thoughtfully arranged

Thank you, Andrea! We so enjoyed meeting you and Enrique! Be well and we hope you visit us again!
Just here to confirm that all of the other wonderful reviews for this place are spot on.... This was a magical experience, and Bill was really lovely and sweet to show us the farm! The yurt is beautifully maintained and the area is beautiful. I had high expectations and I was not disappointed! 100000% would recommend to anyone.

Thank you, Eleanor! It was a pleasure to host you both. Meeting wonderful people is the best part of hosting. Come back again next year!
The owners are very welcoming and nice. The farm is gorgeous and well-maintained. Just the right amount of animals. The yurts is great for people who want to camp but don’t want to pitch a tent or feel the earth beneath them. The bed is comfy & clean with lots of blankets. There is also enough space to just hang out (inside the yurt). The outhouse is by far one of the cleanest & coolest ever!! 5 stars!!

It was really a terrific experience. My daughter had never been camping and this was a great first experience. There was a big storm that we waited out in the yurt...not a single drop came in. And I have to say that there was not a single mosquito inside the yurt. Bill and Amy were terrific hosts showing us around the farm and sharing their story of making a permaculture farm a reality. They have the most beautiful goats ever. We will definitely be returning. A big bonus was an amazingly comfortable bed.

Thank you, Donna. We so enjoyed meeting you and your daughter. Come back again sometime and keep us updated on your documentary.
Truly one of the nicest little escapes from NYC we've had. Driving through this corner of Connecticut we were pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the whole area was. The farm was easy to find, and the Finnegans met us and showed us to the yurt. You are in the middle of the farm, but it feels very private. The inside of the yurt is simple, but beautiful. The bed is very comfortable, and there is a small seating area with books and information about the area. They left firewood and we cooked over the fire. In the morning they showed us around the farm, introduced us to the animals, and we sat and had coffee and talked for awhile. Truly nice people, and a really beautiful piece of land. We will definitely try and make it back here.

Thank you, Bryan! We truly enjoyed meeting you and Julie. Come back and stay with us again sometime.
This place is amazing! It was so relaxing, everything was clean and the yurt is extremely comfortable. The first night it was raining but we felt safe inside. The farm itself is to die for.
Bill is a gracious host who spoiled us with fresh vegetables, organic coffee and some duck+chicken eggs for breakfast. We absolutely loved it and would recommend such experience to everyone!

Thank you, Alina! We so enjoyed meeting you. Come back again sometime!
Bill's farm was AMAZING!!
We stayed for 2 nights and loved every second of it. The yurt is very comfortable and is located in the middle of a secluded field, surrounded by trees, a stream, and a beautiful farm that has cows, a pony, chickens, and vegetables.
It was extremely quiet, spacious, and clean. Most importantly, Bill and his dog Finn are super friendly and nice. Will dfinitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a weekend getaway and nature time.

Loved hosting you both! Come back again!
