A few campers said that the site was a little hard to find, but my maps app took me right there. Peaceful and pretty location.

Peaceful Prairie
This was a nice open prairie to camp. I was overtired when I arrived after a long drive from Indiana and was a bit confused if I was in the right place due to a man coming out of the house telling me to go further away. He wasn’t very welcoming but I didn’t realize this wasn’t the hipcamp host that’s why it seemed rude to me. Once I messaged Zac he cleared things up. He communicated well to help me feel comfortable that I had the right area. I was able to make my fire, set up my camp ,and tripod just in time for a beautiful sunset. It was very peaceful and so bright under an almost full moon. I loved my night here, great first stop in Colorado. Highly recommend Zac’s place and the cute little coffee cafe in Penrose.

Open space with a view
Good location for being close to Canon City, Arkansas River. 1st time doing a HipCamp and we liked it. It was literally in a field, but the spot we picked was flat. Best part was not having lots of people.
