We stayed at site one and loved it. This was our second time staying here. You can easily bike to downtown Salida from the site. I felt secure and safe. You can hear the stream all night and I loved our morning visits from the llamas!
We had a wonderful one-night stay at Lori’s place. The campsite was ample—even for our two tents—and was located next to a lovely stream. You’re out in the country but still close to town. Thanks Lori!
Incredible spot for any kind of Hipcampers! Lori and her husband have made beautiful spots for campers to get away for any amount of time, from 1 day to an entire weekend, and fully immerse themselves into the beautiful town of Salida. We set up our tent along the river at site 567, and with a tent restroom and walking distance to the cute little $5 shower house in town, I would recommend this to anyone. Llamas live on the land, and it is well taken care of. Lori knows what she is doing. We felt secure and enjoyed our visit.
The land is simply gorgeous & this site (567) was top notch. Absolutely the best campsite we’d ever stayed in. We loved the sound of the river as we slept & enjoyed our fire. Salida is a treat & we fell in love with this part of Colorado. Our first time flying & camping was a success. We never did find the potable water but there is a wheelbarrow to help you load & unload. The morning visits with the llamas were a treat & Lori gave us llama candy to feed them. We were unsure about the toilets but they worked out just fine. We’d absolutely return here.
