Coming at you with over 71,000 acres of glorious backcountry adventurin’, State Forest State Park in Jackson County appeals highly to hikers, bikers, anglers, and wildlife viewin’ peeps of all ages. Well, anyone with a pulse really. The dramatic landscape includes vast stretches of forest, jagged peaks, and heavenly, blue alpine lakes. And guess what? It’s also the moose viewing capital of Colorado! With over 600 moose spotted annually, you’re sure to get photobombed by a moose at least once. When it comes time to choose your camp there’s no shortage of options there either. Choose to go full Kumbaya-style with your tent and guitar at one of the gnarly backcountry sites, or make your visit even more unique with a historic six historic mountain cabin. Additionally yurts and RV hook-up sites are available with basic amenities on-site.
