Fish nearby Spinney and Eleven Mile Reservoir for some of the largest rainbow trout in the country. There is also a good chance you may see some cattle or wildlife roaming through.
I cannot guarantee that you will not see another human being but chances are usually good. Also on a side note, the wind can pick up and blow through this valley at times. If you love open space than you will surely appreciate this beauty.

Wow. I love the seclusion of this camping spot. Whether you need to mentally unwind or get loud with friends, this spot is great for both. It really puts in perspective how massive Colorado really is. Sunset was absolutely gorgeous and the night sky is what made the whole experience. With no light pollution at all and a new moon, I was able to see the Milky Way for the first time!

The camp site is in a wide open plain. So quiet...the stars & sunrise was fantastic.
Bring an awesome camera! You can see a ton of stars, planets and the milky way! Be prepared for windy conditions and dry/Rocky ground.
I would follow the Google directions carefully and keep an eye on your mileage. Most of the roads in this area are unmarked. There are RV/ATV/off-the-grid people around. Nothing sketchy. It's a very easy drive to Eleven Mile State Park, Spinney Mountain State Park, and Tarryall from here. I love places like this. It's way different than being surrounded by forest and other campers all the time.

This place is AMAZING. Really lives up to the name. One of the best views of a night sky I have seen in Colorado. The site was really clean and given where it was, we were pleasantly surprised to see such a proper fire pit as well as a picnic table. We even woke up to find a hot air balloon in the sky :) This is perfect for a group of friends who want to disconnect for a night, grill some food, have a fire, and a good time overall. The only thing I would say is that for families with children, this may not be ideal. The only reason being that it is not close to any activities unless you drive outside of the area. So, if you are planning on coming for multiple nights, it would be best to bring lawn games, board games, and your own activities to do during the day.
The sky was indeed starry at this Hip Camp site. Having your own picnic table and fire ring was huge, and the landscape is beautiful. As long as you understand that you’ll be able to see a few other camp sites within a couple hundred yards of you, your expectations will certainly be met.

This was beautiful- thank you for having us! We saw tons of wildlife including birds, antelopes and roaming cows. Just a heads up if you’re traveling with pups, the cows are free roaming and came right up to our site. Highly recommend we will definitely be back :)

Great set up! So quiet and private. Love the big tree, picnic table and fire pit. We had an awesome time and it's so close to Denver we want to use as a get-away spot. The host has a beautiful piece of property with 360 degree views. Watched the sun set and the moon rise at the same time!
Was looking forward to an isolated place to stay with peace and quiet. The camp site was near multiple other rv trailer campers. Or entire day was greeted by noisy ATVs buzzing around the road right near the site. Other campers nearby continued to use generators through the night so we never really had silence. With that said I'm not sure if the other campers, ATVs and noise was just from people on adjacent land. Also I must add that this was over labor day weekend so our experience may be an aberration. The views were great and the fire pit and picnic table were a nice touch
