We loved Sol Mountain Farm. You should check it out if you have ever dreamed of living on a farm, are interested in permaculture, like mountain biking, like nice people, or just want to sleep in a teepee.

The campsites are set on a hill just above the farm, so you have privacy in your tent or in the teepee, but you are still close to all the farm life action below.

The farm itself is home to a beautiful greenhouse and outdoor fields. We visited in October, so it was not as lush as other time of the year, but even so, it was nice to walk through the rows of ripe tomatoes and basil.

Aside from the plants, the farm is home to chicken and pigs, and we were lucky to be there when two of the pigs were still piglets. We loved watching them sneak out of their pen and run around the farm.

The host are awesome. Wesley was inviting and informative, showing us around the farm and making us feel at home. His co-host were equally rad. Some are permanent residence and others friendly WWOOFers.

One of our favorite parts was the outdoor shower where the water is heated by compost. The hot water doesn't last too long, but it's awesome all the same.

We'll be back for sure, maybe even to volunteer on the farm during the busier seasons.

My stay at Sol Mountain Farm was amazing! Everyone was super nice and accommodating, I had a good time gardening with the boys. The site is beautiful and the teepees are jammin. Lots to do in this area from hiking to reading by the rio grande. Will definitely be returning and recommend this farm to all!

This was a great place. I pitched my tent there for the weekend and had a wonderful time. The hosts were kind and helpful, yet respected of my space. So beautiful! The stars at night are spectacular. The views we're beautiful. The farm animals were fun to watch and listen to. I highly recommend visiting here.

We loved our 3 nights here! We thought the location was secluded, yet still close enough to plenty of hiking and only about an hour from the Great Sand Dunes. The communal fire pit was nice as well. Our only complaints were that we wished there was a bit more communication/instructions for when we arrived and the outdoor shower did not work. They said we were some of the earlier Hipcampers for the season, so maybe they just needed to get in the swing of things!

We had a great stay. Everyone was really friendly. Enjoyed all the animals. We missed out on the tipis but ended up loving how the tent sites were a bit more secluded. Definitely recommend if you want something off the beaten path but still within an hour to some neat spots!
