In Southwest Colorado 3 miles west of Paonia, is a Yurt nestled on a large wraparound redwood deck anchored by two mature Elms. The building is situatetlyd in close proximity to the North Fork of the Gunnison River. The Yurt is a sanctuary far removed from neighbors and below the sight-line and activity of Highway 133.The property meanders above and below the Yurt for a  quarter of a mile along the river’s edge. There are established wildlife corridors for Elk and Deer. Eagles, Red Tailed Hawks, and Blue Herons nest on the property or directly across the river. Robins routinely inhabit the trees directly above the sheltering Yurt. When entering the 700 square foot Yurt, a 14’ high skylight inset in a mad array of knotty Aspen, draws you to its center. Here the fireplace anchors the middle and the remaining amenities unwind to the outside of the circumference. Here there is full ADA kitchen and ADA bathroom, queen size bed, dining table, and sitting area. The surrounding river, mountains and cultivated farmland can be viewed ten different ways through 8 windows and 2 French doors. Think of a random compass point and there you will find a window framing your gaze. There is an openness seldom seen in standard structures. After rubbernecking for a while, your first coherent thought is, ‘I can relax here’. And the reality is, you can.

Riverwalk Yurt was AMAZING! Views from the yurt were breathtaking. We felt one with nature and rejuvenated!! We slept to the sound of the babbling stream just outside our door, and woke to the sound of birds chirping. Gorge has added every amenity you could want in this lovely glamped out yurt tucked into paradise:)

Loved our stay at the yurt and we will be back! Gorgeous and well kept, air conditioned for the summer days and cool to sleep with windows opened at night. Wonderful well stocked bathroom and kitchen with everything you could need. Gas grill, hot tub, hammock, and loads of outdoor seating meant we spent most of our time on the shaded deck. Fully fenced deck/yard allowed our dog freedom to hang out with us off leash. August visit was perfect for splashing in the North Fork to cool off in the low water. We saw bald eagle, hummingbird, woodpecker, raccoon, wild turkeys, and cows all from the back deck. So relaxing and fun.
