40 acres hosted by Bailey L.
Located at the north end of the San Luis Valley, and a stone’s throw from Joyful Journey Hot Springs, Red Cloud Ranch is a 40 acre oasis developed for sustainable living and for the enjoyment of family, friends and guests. The main house was completely renovated in 2011. The living room bay windows look east to the ever-changing Sangre de Cristo range.
RCR was designed, developed and built by a film industry veteran with inspiration drawn from New Mexico’s Eaves Movie Ranch, built by Gene Kelly for the film, The Cheyenne Social Club. Much like Eaves, Red Cloud Ranch features various elevations of ground and space to both inform and rest the eye.
Over the years, regular planting and tree maintenance has produced numerous groves of mature aspens, with over one hundred Aspen trees and local pines on site and developing nicely. The soil at Red Cloud is excellent for planting and growth, and water is accessed from a private well.
The 1984 34 foot Avion/Airstream triple-axle trailer is fully functional and serves as a rental unit from late spring through early autumn. This rental unit, also available on other rental sites, is arguably the most popular short-term facility in the north valley, and is generally booked solid throughout the summer.
