Jinx was a friendly and helpful host. The property has great views and sunsets, and the night sky is the most amazing thing you'll ever see. It's on a plain, so expect winds to come and go during the day--they can be pretty strong. The river is three or so miles away, we hiked and biked it, but with the sun overhead it's probably better to drive.

Fantastic Host and a wonderful, private and safe getaway for us! Jinx and her dog pack were great guides to the San Luis Valley; we would definitely recommend! Host has lived in the area for 12 years and she has all kinds of interesting recommendations and stories about the area. We will be back!

Cattle, living their best life on the open range.More cows than people, just how we like it! A five minute drive to the Rio Grande, where we walked and took photos...Super private and safe for a pandemic mini-vacation!

Our stay with Jinx was so wonderful, we can't wait to come back in the summer! We had a beautiful stay out on the prairie with nothing but gorgeous meadow and mountains no matter where you look. It's a bit of a ride on a dirt road to get there (4x4 is a must in the winter!) but once you get there you're surrounded by serenity and real raw beauty. Jinx was an incredible host too and showed us the petroglyphs in the area and even took us to see the wild mustangs! We were greeted by her pack of sweet dogs as soon as we arrived and couldn't have been happier to be surrounded by so many friendly animals. Don't miss the sunset on the mountains either. The name Sangre de Cristo definitely doesn't disappoint: it's blood red!

Glowing sunset on our camper. Beautiful dusting of snow as we explored. Our wonderful host Jinx!We even got to see some of the wild horses not far from our camp spot!

Jynx’s Pups were so much fun! The location is amazing, very isolated, great landscapes, great for stargazing and the rio grande river is only a short drive away. Would’ve stayed for breakfast but we were on a tight schedule - thanks for the coffee!

Jinx was super nice and knowledgeable of the area, and made us feel very welcome on her place. Will definitely recommend this place to anyone headed over that way. The property is not too far from good hiking opportunities or the Great Sand Dunes
