About Paonia State Park

Recently refurbished by the good people of Colorado State Parks and U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, even someone that’s seen it all will appreciate what Paonia State Park has to offer.

Park features include gorgeous alpine scenery, abundant wildflowers and a pristine lake resting in between steep mountainsides. Campers can nap by a babbling brook, browse wildlife instead of the internet or even water ski on the mountain reservoir. Yessir, Paonia State Park will 100% justify the cost of your latest impulse camera purchase. Ready for more exploration? Check out the nearby Grand Mesa and Gunnison National Forests. Open season is May through early September.
