Karen and Tony are such great hosts, making sure we had everything we needed for a great stay. There were 8 of us total camping on their property -- 5 adults and 3 kids, ranging from ages 2 all the way to 80. Everyone had a wonderful time. The campsite is directly behind the teepees, right next to the gulch. Our hosts gave us access to an outhouse with a composting toilet, and the campsite has solar lights to guide your way. We also had access to a communal outdoor kitchen with a 3-burner propane stove, a griddle, pots and pans and even tubs for washing dishes. Tony made sure to continually replenish our water jugs, which was a really nice touch. All in all, we would definitely stay here again, and we may try out the beautiful teepees next time! Great hosts, and Hotchkiss is truly a hidden gem.
We had a great time at Karen and Tony's place. The tipis on the land are rented out via AirBNB, so we got to use the shared kitchen with some other renters. We had a great time, and our dog Lucy did not want to leave (like really, she was serious)!
What a sweet spot! Tipi Haven is close to town on a lovely (and currently tiny) little stream. We didn't spend much time at our camp spot but our hosts were awesome, the directions were easy and the North Fork Valley is such a wonderful and dimensional place to explore. Next time I want to stay in a tipi!
