Ok wow!!! This place was dreamy. Alice and Joe were extremely communicative the week leading up to our trip and answered any questions we had. The directions were accurate and it really was easy to find despite having no cell service (which honestly was the best part). We got to their main house and they took us to the campsite. It was absolutely stunning, very clean and organized, and had the most incredible views. We only brought food/drinks and our clothes, Alice and Joe took care of the rest. We hiked around the property which is beyond gorgeous and saw a moose! That night the sky was clear and we had a perfect view of the Milky Way. The tent was so comfortable and cozy. I was never cold and the bed was also very comfortable. In the morning when we woke up we saw two moose in the meadow hanging out too! Then Joe drove us to a trailhead about 15-20 minutes away from the property and we hiked a to a gorgeous view. I am 10000% staying here again. I seriously can’t say enough good things it was perfection.
This place totally exceeded our expectations! The location is beautiful and very private. There are no other tents on the site so it is completely private but feels safe with the owners just at the bottom of the hill. The furnace inside the tent provides plenty of heat and there are extra blankets if needed. They provide everything you need to prepare your own meals (griddle top grill) and running water. If you need to keep things cool, bring a cooler.
There’s no cell service so make sure you’ve downloaded maps/directions in advance.
Alice and Joe are wonderful hosts and made us feel so welcome. We would definitely return!
This property is stunning and it's the nicest Hipcamp we have ever been to! The tent id located at the edge of a huge meadow surrounded by National Forest. You are completley removed from everything and surrounded by aspens, birds and animals. Plenty of land to sit, meditate, and just breathe in the fresh Colorado air. The tent is adorably decorated and has everything you need. The bed is very comfortable and the wood stove inside the tent added extra warmth. Alice and Joe left a welcome basket full of wine, chocolate, and other snacks. The outside kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, utensils, and even a huge Blackstone stove to do all your cooking on.
Alice and Joe are some of the kindest people you will ever meet and they love their land so much. At the end of our visit, they invited us into their home and even took ud for a drive to see other partsbof their property. We left having new friends! We recommend this place 2000% to anyone looking for an escape. We already have plans to return. Thank you Alice and Joe for sharing your enchanted land!
Everything was great. We only needed to bring our cloths, food and drinks. The view at the campsite is amazing.
This experience of staying at Mountain Meadows was spectacular and stunning! Alice and Joe were so kind and welcoming and the whole set up is so wonderful, private and comfortable. At dusk the deer came out to graze and the campfire was ready to light. The meadow has beautiful views. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the tent was spacious. I am already planning my next trip. You will be blown away!
I would recommend to anyone who wants a beautiful private glamping experience. Alice and her family were very welcoming and attentive, ensuring we felt comfortable and safe. There were 3 of us, including a child, who had a great time - wondering around the meadows, looking at Alice's turkeys and chickens, bucks and does (there were so many of them wondering on edge of the meadow, we were in awe). We were able to get a cell service (V) about 15 min away from the camp site by the edge of meadow (none at camp site).
Site was very clean and everything were provided for - having a child, you always have to be prepared for - I brought blankets, sleeping bags, tent and gears for in case but I didn't have to use any of it. Only consumed extra water brought with us along with food. Inside tent was clean and fire stove kept us warm all night. There were plenty of fire woods and the pit and stove were prepared for immediate use when we arrived. It is beautifully set up and maintained with a great host. We had a great time and will be going back again for sure.
2 things I wish I knew prior going.
1. The night sky was AMAZING. I wish I had brought my camera, phone camera just didn't do justice. The open space allows to you wonder and enjoy it.
2. to the camp site, it's about .5 mile uphill that you need to drive up. I have a sedan and made to the camp site fine (along with return down). But it's better fitted for a Truck or SUV with higher clearance than of a sedan.
