The Basics

Welcome to the Ranch!

Only RVs are eligible.... as there is no bathroom or private area to use as a bathroom.

Check in time is 2 p.m. Check out time is 11:00 a.m. (unless otherwise arranged and I am very open to alternate times)

The Site

This site has views of Long's Peak and the pastures and prairies leading to the mountains. A living "purple mountains majesty" right from your site. It is an idyllic place to call your home for a few nights, while enjoying the surrounding areas like Loveland, Longmont, Boulder, Rocky Mountain National Park, Denver and so much more. You can easily drive to reservoirs for swimming and boating, biking, hiking and days worth of adventures.

Alpacas and Chickens share this mini ranch with you and tours can be arranged.

The campsite is on the right, just inside the main gate.

You will need to open the campsite gate to park you RV within the site. If it does not fit, you may camp just near the gate.

Please stay on the area where it is obvious prior campers have been parked.

NO bathroom available

You may hook up to the electric and water tap.

There is a dump station just to the right of the drive, near the house.

The Ranch

The alpaca pasture comes right up to the fence of your private campground.

DO NOT FEED THE ALPACA! Some seemingly harmless items are poisonous to them.

DO NOT wander the ranch. We are happy to give you a tour of the operation and introduce you to the alpacas and chickens, but they can be dangerous and can spit. Keep you distance and do not reach out to them. Thank you, this is very important to their safety as well as yours.

The Surroundings

This is an actual neighborhood of working people. No loud noise after 10 pm or before 8 am.

Please do not blast music or make noise that is very loud or annoying.

Please park in the spot closest to the camp site.

Golden hour and alpacas? We’re in! We loved our visit here to Laurell’s alpaca farm and home. While we didn’t have an RV to park for our Hipcamp field scout visit, we did take photos of her RV space complete with outlets for electricity and water as well. She prefers RV’s instead of tenters for now, since it is in a neighborhood setting and she is thinking about getting a bathroom up for campers of any kind. Nonetheless, perfect spot and insane sunset views!

We parked our RV here for the night, it was a great stopover point. Quiet, clean, and easy to find. The RV electrical hookups were great to have.

We stayed at the ranch for a night in a self-contained RV. Unfortuantely didn't get to meet the host or the alpacas, but we were able to hook up to electric no-problem and enjoy a quiet evening on the farm!

My stay at 'Mini Alpaca Ranch' with Laurell was lovely. She communicated very well as I wound my way north from New Mexico with a day-of reservation, and responded to my booking request very quickly.

Her property is a great place to park an RV or similar contained vehicle and have access to the foothills and all their nature has to offer. Privacy of the camp itself is basic- the site is on a road in a country community and is gently fenced and gated in. Laurell set clear expectations with me about that from the moment I inquired about staying- her site is for vehicle camping, and when you are out of your vehicle you are visible to the neighbors and occasional passersby on her road. That said- I slept so comfortably with my roof open to the night stars and had no issues at all with road noise that evening.

Laurell and her family extended wonderful kindness upon my arrival, and I wish that I had a bit more time to get to know them. I would have loved to have gotten their advice on access to all the local landscape had to offer- but they were leaving for a trip for charity on an early flight and I respected that action very much. Know that it is worth researching how to access to the activities listed, as they are not on property- but you are staying at their doorstep. The rate is excellent for an area where summer bookings are handled months in advance- making it difficult for last minute travelers.

Thank you Laurell for giving me a wonderful evening' s rest and hospitality with such last minute notice!

I stayed here for one night, got in late and left early, so I didn't get a chance to meet the hosts or the alpacas- but I did catch a sighting of the alpacas in the morning- so cute! The spot was easy to find and in a nice safe residential area. Since I was in an RV, I wasn't too worried about privacy, but this is definitely not the place to have a party or be loud since neighbors are right across the street and can see you. We experienced a stunning sunset and sky here during a storm. This is a nice easy spot to stop if you don't want to stay at an RV park and want something a bit more homey feeling (with alpacas!).
