We are a simple family of 5 living off grid in raw Colorado mountains surrounded by trees and views of mountains. We are starting the process of making this raw land into a small Homestead day by day. Wildlife runs rampant around here, we have wild Llamas, Antelopes, Deer, Bears, Wolves, Rattlesnakes, Hawks, Blue Jay's and much more to experience!Currently we only allow Tent Camping in three locations on our land. One location offers wood table, outhouse (outside bathroom), picnic table and two stone/rock built fire pits. The second location will offer wood table, stone/rock built fire pit. Both locations will offer you a pleasant 360 view of wildlife, mountains and abundance of trees surrounding You! We just added a third campsite, it faces the south view of the twin peaks mountains. The third campsite offers only a fire pit with one wood bench at the moment, it is close to the outhouse bathroom as well. We do allow 420 use on our land but YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR TRASH AND MARIJUANA USE, AS WELL AS YOUR OWN SAFETY! NO ONE UNDER THE AGE OF 21 IS ALLOW TO CONSUME ANY KIND OF MARIJUANA PRODUCTS ON THIS LAND! Now there are three local Rec Dispensaries within 5-10 Mile drive into the local town of Walsenburg, CO. We highly recommend checking out the C1B Category One Botanical. off of I-25 exit near the T.A. Gas station. We are 15 minutes away from the Spanish Peaks Hospital and across the street from the hospital is Lathrop State Park!

Hey Campers! Guess what, now You and Your significant other can LEGALLY be Married officially on New Day Homestead Campgrounds!

Fun Fact: Did you know that you can get *legally* married in Colorado without an officiant or any witnesses?

True story—Colorado is one of 4 places in the U.S. that allows what's called "self-solemnizing" which means you can "self-officiate" or "marry yourselves." And Colorado doesn't require witnesses either (most states require 2).⠀So what does this mean? It means that you can come here anytime, pick up a $30 marriage license from almost any DMV or go to our County Clerk & Recorder office which is in town (Walsenburg), climb our mountain or go into the forest just the 2 of you, say your vows, sign your license, turn it back in—and that's a LEGIT legal wedding.⠀Basically, Colorado is THE DREAM for elopements. And if you want to let your kids or your dog sign as witnesses—Colorado says go for it, so if y'all are wanting to Elope while y'all camp more the merrier!!! ⠀

I stayed with Luke for 4 nights and they flew by so fast with how much fun we had! This campsite absolutely exceeded my high expectations of what a campsite should be. It was private but located within a reasonable distance from town. The views were absolutely stunning, you can see clear views of mountains in three directions. The stars can be seen very clearly. There is wildlife all around, and it was a joy to view. We felt very safe. It was very easy to get to...two turns off of a major interstate. Although the roads leading in are dirt, AWD is not necessary. A sedan could easily make the drive. Luke, the host, is incredibly knowledgeable about the surrounding wilderness, construction techniques and the local wildlife. We had a blast talking to him and we learned a lot. This is an absolute steal at the current price, book before it's too late!!

EXCELLENT LOCATION FOR CAMPSITES!!! Two campsites on top of a mesa with a 360 degree view of the mountains, and surrounding area. There is a short hike to campsites, on a well marked path. So peaceful, quiet, secluded, with a large flat boulder to sit on and meditate. Loved it! The host Luke was fantastic, very knowledgeable of the area, always made sure everything was ok.
I definitely recommend this location!
