It get’s caliente during Colorado summers and Lake Pueblo State Park--just a short drive from Colorado Springs--is a surefire way to stay one step ahead of that summer heat! It’s easy as fourth o’ July pie to rent a boat or jetski here and spend the day exploring cliffs and coves with your friends. Park it and comb the shoreline for fossils or cast a line for some of the best lake fishing in the whole state. There’s awesome tent and RV camping so you can explore trails by foot or horse before cooking up mad hot dogs as the sun sets behind Pikes Peak in the distance. You’ll be glad you took some R&R at Lake Pueblo, we bet it’s not long before you come back for more.
Great bike/hike trails--but keep your eyes out for snakes, especially in the Fall. The site is upgrading their electrical (1/2017). No news of when it will be finished.
A great, warm destination on those weekends when you want to camp during those awkward weather times of the year. Lake is walking distance, and the marina is close for supplies.
