Our Lotus Belle glamping yurts are a decadent retreat for people who want to enjoy nature in comfort. Imagine going for a hike, then spending the rest of the day reading a book on the plush memory foam bean bag and enjoying a cup of tea at the bistro table. Imagine spending the evening lounging on the queen size memory foam bed, to the flickering light of the clean burning in-tent fireplace.

This season we are set up next to a meadow and a grove of aspens in beautiful Kenosha Pass. The Colorado Trail runs nearby and there are wonderful opportunities for hiking, exploring with your dog, and viewing wildflowers and the turning of the aspens in their respective seasons.

Our beautiful Lotus Belle yurts feel light and and spacious inside. They are 13 feet in diameter, 6 feet tall at the walls, and about 9 feet tall in the center. You can move freely and stretch out in the space without crouching. The Lotus Belle is not only beautiful and spacious, but functional as well. It is constructed of waterproof canvas and has a waterproof floor. When the windows and doors are shut, our yurts shelter guests from rain, wind and hail. Mosquito net, clear vinyl, and canvas window coverings allow guests to moderate the temperature of the space while keeping insects out. Lay in bed and watch the wind move in the trees through the window, or close the canvas shutters to make the space cozy and private.

We also provide a camp toilet and a heated camp shower, each in their own separate tents. Our standard setup includes: - Carpeted tent floor. - A queen size bed on a wooden bed frame with a 6 inch memory foam mattress and bedding. - Two soft, fluffy, all-season comforters provide warmth on cold nights. - A small portable indoor fireplace for ambiance and heating. - A teak bistro set with two padded chairs. - A large memory foam bean bag. - A wicker chest containing some interesting books and guides about our recommended areas, instructions for using the camp equipment, - A first-aid kit, and other practical items. - A bathroom tent with a camp toilet. - A shower tent with a propane powered water heater for freshening up.

The access to our Kenosha Pass location is by dirt road. The site is accessible by a typical 2wd vehicle. Keep in mind that even 2wd dirt roads have sections with potholes, puddles, and washboarding. If you're new to dirt roads, take it slow.  The road to get to the site opens every year on different dates depending on the weather that mother nature has provided us.  If you have to park and hike into the yurt it is a 15 min walk and 1,783 steps in from highway 285.

Other things to note

Colorado is famous for the number of sunny days that we get. A typical summer day in the Rockies is sunny skies in the morning and some sun and clouds in the afternoon with about a 50% chance of intermittent showers or thunderstorms, followed by clear evenings. While the mountains are beautiful, they are also unpredictable. We can't guarantee that you'll get the perfect weather. However, we are committed to your stay in these majestic and powerful mountains being safe and comfortable.

Suggested Packing List:

Warm clothing: down jacket, fleece, wool or synthetic socks, spare socks, waterproof boots, long underwear, synthetic shirts, gloves, warm hat, sunglasses, rain gear, camp shoes or sandals, synthetic undergarments, flip-flops for shower if applicable

Sleeping bags: The bedding included with the camp setup is very warm, but if nighttime temperatures drop below freezing, sleeping bags may be necessary to be comfortable.

Also, while the bedding will keep your body warm, you may want to have a hat or ski mask nearby to keep your head warm as you sleep.

Personal gear: Flashlight or headlamp with replacement batteries, camera, phone and phone charger, toothbrush, toothpaste, feminine products, biodegradable soap/shampoo (Dr. Bronner's will be included, but if you want something specific, bring that)

Camp stove, pot and/or pan, cooking utensils, eating utensils, plates and bowls, food, cooler (keep in car or hang it in a tree to prevent wildlife from getting to it), drinking water (we recommend 2 gallons per person, per day, for drinking and cooking, shower water (if showering, plan for 5 gallons per shower), trash bags, firewood and/or a hatchet or axe for making smaller pieces out of larger deadfall, hand sanitizer.

If applicable: For your dog(s) extra water, dog food and water bowls, dog bed and blanket (even in the middle of summer, nights can get cold), leash.
