If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Kelly Place is a great place to stay, self guided tour of the ruins on site and hikes from the property are only a part of the benefit of staying here as they have a shower and you get breakfast and it is quiet. The owners are knowledgeable of the area and will share information.
Kelly Place came to be when a couple discovered Anasazi artifacts on their property in the 1960s. This property has since been excavated and turned into a vacation destination, and I have never seen anything quite like it. I came with my dog and we had such a great time hikig around all of the trails that start right on the property, and we did not even get to see all of it! I highly recommend a sunset hike; desert sunsets are particularly gorgeous and they have panoramic views of the area.
Absolutely beautiful location - a little paradise valley that was glorious to camp in. Beautiful land, delicious breakfast, great amenities all around - there is only one bathroom available for all the campers, so there can be a wait. Other than that, perfect spot!
The campgrounds are beautiful. Loved the grass lawns on the property, fun to lay and run around on. The breakfast was wonderful! Our one complaint was the shower: it had lots of odd bugs in it. Ended up driving to a nearby recreation center for a shower instead.
Kelly Place is amazing! A little oasis in the desert. We had a nice camp spot - not super private, but all of the other camping and bnb guests were respectful and quiet. The breakfast in the morning was so good! And they had juice, tea, water, and snacks available all day.
The ruins onsite are pretty amazing. You can take a self guided tour and get inside a kiva!
I would definitely come back here!
Kelly Place is awesome! The hosts are fantastic and very welcoming, the campsites were easily accessible and very well kept and the amenities were great- we loved the included breakfast in the morning! In addition to great camping, the property includes ruins from the Anazi about 100 feet from the lodge- so cool! We highly recommend you stay at Kelly Place if you can.
Fantastic and serene place. Really great hosts. Kelly Place is mostly a B&B but has a few camp spots on the property. This is not remote camping but more of a way to tent up and enjoy some of the benefits of onsite bathroom/shower, breakfast. Amazing hiking into the Canyon of the Ancients directly from the property. Hosts are amazing and have made a wonderful place.
