Amazing stay! thank you!
Jason and his family were exceedingly hospitable to us during our stay. Tent was even better than the pics and the oven inside kept it so warm! Port a potty was clean, there was tons of firewood and a great pit. Close to lots of trails and super quiet and secluded. Jason really goes beyond with “amenities” as well. Paper, dry kindling, and matches made it way easy to start a fire plus a lantern, bear spray, Etc all inside the tent when we arrived. I would absolutely recommend and hope to stay there again one day although I have a feeling bookings will be hard to come by once people have had a chance to visit!
Wow. what a gem in leadville.
Getting to Robin Hood from the town of Leadville is as easy as can be. The directions here are spot on and upon arriving (10 min drive from town center) you will be greeted by Jason & fam if they're home (who live just up the road from the camp), Timber the lovable guard dog, and a pair of spunky llamas.
When they use the term glamping here, they mean glamping. Jason has done a great job making this camping excursion as easy as can be. The tent houses 4 twin beds and a one large full mattress. In the middle you will find a wood burning stove - along with dry wood and kindling to either warm up the tent before heading to sleep or getting breakfast going in the morning.
You can park right outside the tent next to the port-o-potty or next to a huge stack of freshly cut wood and a picnic table. The fire pit outside of the tent makes it the perfect place to gather with your crew before turning in.
IF YOU BIKE, BRING BIKES! This property lines up to some amazing trails and we were kicking ourselves for leaving ours at home. Definitely book a guided hike with Jason and the llamas - he has a wealth of knowledge on trail systems around the area or other things to do during your stay in Leadville. All-in-all, this camp is a no brainer if you're looking for a quiet weekend, a base camp for adventure, or just looking to get outside with the comforts of home.
We couldn’t have asked for a better experience or for better hosts. The tent is very clean and comfortable, Jason and his family are so warm and welcoming, my four-year-old really loved walking a llama, we really enjoyed our stay here! Thank you Kelly and Jason!
Wonderful family getaway!
We stayed at Robin Hood Lode July 6-8 and it was an absolute wonderful time! The communication and directions were on point. We brought our two children, infant, and dog and it was comfortable and accommodating. The tent is spacious with two twin bunk beds and a bigger bed. Amenities included! Sanitizer, toilet paper, matches, hand sanitizer, an axe, firewood, wood burning stove, propane lantern, four camp chairs, and fire ring with grate. The photos of the tent and site do not do the actual tent and site justice. It was more than expected. We enjoyed our visits from Timber, the camp dog. He was well socialized and played with my dog. The site is down the road some from the house but it is very private. The fire mitigation at the location was great. Perfect base camp for fishing over at Turquoise Lake or touring around Leadville. Would love to stay again when we hike Mt. Elbert. My kids loved our stay and asked to come back. Thank you for a wonderful respite from city life!
Thank you jason and family...
My son and I enjoyed our peaceful stay. The stars were awesome along with the presence and roar of Mt. Elbert and Massive. Great location for local hikes and other outdoor activity, such as finding and observing old mines, biking and white water rafting!
We will definitely consider another stay in the Lode!
Jason and his family went above and beyond when it came to hosting our family at Robin Hood Lode. Upon our arrival to the site, we had an issue that we were not prepared for and they dropped everything to help us. We will forever remember their kindness and plan on coming back to enjoy their property.
