Discounts available at local recreational marijuana shops. Owners run a small animal rescue on the property and you are encouraged to bring your dog. Please make sure they are up to date on their vaccinations and are dog friendly. Please keep leashed if they don't like friends. Million dollar mountain views. First class hiking and fishing close by. One of the few truly peaceful places left on earth. Short walk into private tent spot with fire pit and wood provided. We recently had a porta potty put on the property. It is a little walk from the tent sites but should make morning duties a little more pleasant. We also can perform wedding ceremonies right next to the river. Check out the photos.

This gorgeous property has multiple sites for set up, very friendly hosts, and the gorgeous Rio De Los Pintos River for fishing. Set up your tent and start fishing! Be sure to check out charming Antonito and DO NOT MISS Cano's Castle. The host was friendly and informative... and they also run a dog rescue from the nearby cabin! We loved this property.
This met our needs which were:
1. Somewhere we could reserve so as not to worry about site availability at nearby public campgrounds on a Friday night.
2. Near the highway so we could get to our appointments during the day quickly and get back at night.
Additionally, my daughter enjoyed meeting the horse and the pig.
This was an amazing campsite, Our host was extremely friendly and accommodating. Thank you for an amazing trip and we cannot wait to use your site in the future. Thank you, DJ
Quiet, private space on the conejos
The riverside campsite is quiet and private. We enjoyed wading in the Conejos RIver with our dogs and relaxing at the site. Road traffic noise was almost non-existent. Firewood was plentiful. Falling asleep at night to the sound of the water was heavenly. The owners’ home seems far, far away. For these reasons, I would recommend this spot.
Do be aware that this is a rustic property. After turning off the dirt road, the ruts get a bit deep for a sport wagon, the low-water crossing is rough on the trailer hitch and the grasses and weeds scrape the under carriage. The drive in to the actual site requires a somewhat steep drop, then driving on bumps and over weeds to the site. A quick swipe with a borrowed brush hog or even a weed whacker could make this campsite driveway more civilized. Note that this would all be a non-issue in a 4x4, but we left the off-road vehicle at home this weekend to enjoy the comfort of the sport wagon.
Steve is a friendly, warm guy and we enjoyed our weekend on their property. There’s just a little more work to do on this site before I would while heartedly recommend his campsite to friends or family with zero hesitation. That being said, we would camp here again when visiting this area.
Save yourself the trouble!
The river front site was a creek, that was dried and told "It rarely rains here!" The site was private but the land was a bit uncleanly and the road to the site was very rocky (which is understandable for Colorado) but hard to safely get through without brush and trees scraping against the car.
With no water to swim or entertain in, no hiking trails, no benches to even sit on, a fire ban... There was really nothing for us to even do there... So we actually left the site and didn't even camp there!
Flat tent site next to the river with great views. Met the farm animals and caught an amazing sunset. With a lot of rain the day we arrived, it was nice to have an SUV. Steven was a gracious host and made sure we got safely to the site!
