Welcome to a unique spot off the beaten path with access to all the best outdoor activities Colorado has to offer and to top it all off, you can camp or hammock right next to our new little coffee shop ‘The Left Hand Stand‘ at the corner of our property! As you can see from the map, this location is not deep in the woods and is near a main road, but it’s central location to everything these beautiful mountains has to offer makes it worth it, we like to think!
This particular spot is located toward the north eastern end of our couple of acres and is semi flat already but you will have to do some leveling for your camper if you bring a vehicle to it. This is also our largest site and can accommodate a camper van or pop up/small RV and a tent or two! You are welcome to use the second driveway for access, but it is very bumpy! We will help you find access to this location since it’s not yet labeled so please message us for details.
Brainard Lake is mere minutes away and Nederland or Estes Park in opposite directions about half an hour from here and Boulder is only about 45 minutes away too!
If you have any questions about anything at all, please feel free to ask!
We offer a fire pit in our backyard (for the times when a fire ban isn’t in effect) and and you’re welcome to use our bathroom for now but soon we’ll have a porta-potty near the coffee shop so please don’t use the woods! And always pack out your own trash! We have a washer/dryer that you’re welcome to as well but we do ask for an extra small fee for their use. If you’d like a shower, we also ask a small fee for it’s use as well. Please pre-purchase these amenities at the time of your booking. We also accept Venmo/PayPal should you decide to purchase this service during your stay.
We’re always happy to share our local knowledge for the best spots to hike, bike, climb, or fish so pick our brains if you want and grab a coffee and a pastry from The Left Hand Stand before you head out for the day too!
We look forward to hosting you!

Places to see near Isaac G.’s Land
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
We were so lucky to have stumbled on this place after we were too late to a ff spot. Hosts were incredible kind and hospitable when we arrived early and made us feel very comfortable on our first hipcamp trip. They also have a little coffee shop on their land, which I consider to be a bonus! Plus, they have directions to all the great local spots and more popular points of interest in the area.
We were told to set up camp wherever we wanted so we chose a lush spot closer to the road, right across the way from where we were asked to park and further away from their home/chicken stoop. It felt very safe and comfortable even on a relatively busy road (which was no issue even for our light sleeper).
We had such a great time! Thank you!
This is a really great spot. It was a little close to the road, but the noise didn’t bother us at ALL! Isaac and his family were so warm and welcoming, and the site was clean and pleasant. There were a couple other sites on the property, which we enjoyed because they weren’t too close but nice to see others. There was a port-a-potty available and a sweet little cafe. The drive there from Estes/Allenspark was gorgeous and overall a really great place!
Great camp site
Isaac and his family were great to work with. We booked the wrong kind of site for us and they just worked that out. The little coffee shop they have opened is great. Great location too! So much hiking and exploring nearby. Highly recommend this place.
Do not recommend !!!
Would NOT recommend. This site is not as advertised. I booked this as a special spot ahead of my friend's wedding next month to celebrate COVID safe with a party of 4. I communicated this to Isaac in advance, specifcally asking if there as ample room for us all to do so (4 cars, etc.). While he was ultra-communicative and accomodating upfront, what we found was not what was advertised.
The site was small and very sloped. There was no room for 4 tents. We were forced to sleep in our cars, and Isaac mandated that we move them up to a busy highway.
(We did not receive this message due to having no cell service which is the case up in Ward).
I decided to contact him privately about this after the fact, not wanting to make the issue public. He admonished me for not receiving his message (while out of text range) and said, and I quote " This was a business transaction. You got to stay very near Brainard Lake, loads of local tips and hints, I was extremely hospitable to you and I charged a nominal fee for it when there is literally nowhere else to camp or stay up here for such an event for less than $100. From the way you presented yourself, I suspect you have plenty to spare, so I doubt what you spent is going to break you." He insulted me further, but I won't bother to spread that on the internet.
Isaac was a wonderful host. His family is adorable and very welcoming. My dog loved the chickens. If you are looking for a spot close to hiking around Ward and Nederland this is a great spot. It is next to the road as stated on the listing so make sure to bring a tether if you are bringing your dog. Will stay again- added bonus coffee shop on site !!
Isaac is a kind and welcoming host, and the coffee is great too! Depending on which spot you get, it might be easier/best to sleep in a camper/van/car than a tent but there are options. The site is a great option if you want to be as close as possible to Brainard Lake. It's right by the road and on busy weekends there is a steady stream of traffic. It's a decent option for a quick and easy place to stay, but not private. The aspen grove is lovely and peaceful in the middle of the day/morning and excellent for hammocks!
