About Holy Cross Refugio Campsite
This is for choice of sites is right at the junction of trees, meadows, and talus with the right blend of privacy and views. There are two good tent sites, depending on what you would like.
Over 11k in elevation. Please strongly consider renting our cabin (see next listing) unless you are experienced camping at high altitude in the mountains.
There are flat spots ready for your tent, or for an additional cost you can borrow our gear including sleeping bags and pads for four, and tent. You must bring your own hut bag or sleeping bag liner- a sheet folded in half and sewn together works well. This is the only place anywhere nearby with amenities, and literally stones throw from the Holy Cross Wilderness, where you will find lakes, peaks, streams, and rocks galore.
This is a unique opportunity to stay in a special place. Our cabin makes for an excellent base in winter, while in summer sleeping outdoors under the stars at the tentsite is an excellent choice.

I had a great time staying at HCR. Ben was very thorough in his information and was great with communication leading up to and after my stay. I decided to take the Fancy Creek trail to the site. It was a bit of a hike and took me about 4 hours with my gear, but I highly recommend it. It is a bit of elevation gain, so be prepared.
