We have 22 acres of undeveloped land that we plan on developing into high elevation vineyards and a home site *(home site now under construction & trailer on site + Cow & Calf + 2 goats + Chickens ). We have spectacular views of the West Elks Mnts. on the Western slope of Colorado situated between Aspen & Telluride. Folks dont realize that the West Elks is an established AVA and we have some phenomenal wineries in the area including Stone Cottage, Jack Rabbit Hill Farms and Azura all well within 20min drive..... Mesa Winds Winery is practically our neighbor and is a walk or 3min drive. Amazing opportunities to float, swim, kayak, paddle board and fish gold medal waters just 10min away at pleasure park. Hiking, biking, climbing are all exceptional here. Eagle rock shelter is the oldest known archeological site in CO and top 5 in USA and its 15-20 min drive and 1/4 mile hike! A true outdoors paradise! We have 4 amazing neighbors and you can see their homes from most of our property but they are far enough that you will forget they are there.

Hollow Horn Farms is the most peaceful place I've camped in awhile! I felt so safe and comfortable here and the Hosts, Michelle Alex and their sweet dog Chipala, are so kind and welcoming. They have a large piece of land overlooking an incredible display of snow-capped peaks. I loved watching the light change throughout the day, and sunrise was spectacular. There's currently some construction going on while Alex and Michelle (who live in a trailer on the property), build their future home, but I didn't find it to be a problem whatsoever. There's plenty of space, and my dog loved roaming around the property off leash. As far as activities go, there's a lot going on in the area: Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park (so close!), fly fishing, hiking, visiting the orchards and vineyards in Hotchkiss, etc. I was really impressed with this area and would love to spend more time in the future. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!

Snacking for dinner on this warm evening under a big blue sky and fending off Juniper as per usual. The light here is so pretty! There's some beautiful elm trees lining the property and as the sun set everything lit up orange and gold. There's plenty of space on the land to drive out and set up your tent. You can also keep your car in the driveway if you prefer, but I like to have all my things close by. I love that this campsite is super dog friendly. Juniper got along well with the Host's dog (also a cattle dog), and she loved running around and exploring on her own.

Alex and his wife could not have been better hosts and my girlfriend, 3 dogs, and I could not have asked for a better experience. My girlfriend and I were on a road trip from Chicago to California and needed a safe private place to stay and boy did we get more than we bargained for. We only got to stay one night and didn’t know what to expect but its a memory my girlfriend and I will cherish forever. Alex and his wife have a beautiful young farm with incredible mountain views. Alex and his wife provided us with excellent tips for activities and amenities in the area after they introduced us to their chickens, and two goats. We didn’t get to check everything out because we were exhausted from our road trip but we definitely want to come back to visit. Alex and his wife made us feel so welcomed. We set up camp near the back of their huge property, cooked up some dinner, and watched shooting stars until it was time for bed. In the morning Alex and his wife even blessed us with queso fresco and a fresh dairy milk coffee drink that honestly was one of the best drinks that have ever touched my lips. Top that off with a private site for our REI base camp 6 tent, farm fresh eggs, an incredible view of the stars, an unforgettable sunrise, what else could you ask for? Definitely check this place out for a taste of the Colorado mountain farm life with incredible hosts. Thank you again Alex!

Alex and his wife Michelle are both incredibly kind and welcoming. We got in pretty late but Alex still was awake, he greeted us and showed us were to park. He even told us how we should park to be able to have a great view of the sunrise. In the morning, it was absolutely peaceful and perfect. The rooster was crowing, you could hear the cows, the sunrise was wonderful. We got to meet all the animals, two goats and the calf were my favorites but they all were great. Michelle was so nice and let me just bother her with all kinds of questions for what I’m sure was over an hour and a half. Their farm is a perfect place to make a stop and enjoy the moment. I’m so glad we weren’t in a rush to get out, it was a all beyond expectations. We stayed one night.

Flora and Willow were the best goats! I could have stayed in there all dayCan’t beat this backdrop for cooking your breakfast.Loved eating while watching the light and clouds move over the mountains

Alex and his wife Michelle were great hosts! They have a beautiful spot with a panoramic view of the mountains which made for some epic sunrises and sunsets during our stay. Alex and Michelle were super accommodating, especially when we had a slight hiccup and arrived much later than planned. We were expecting to have a little more tree cover from a couple of pictures in the listing, but we managed just fine. Their location is super convenient to many of the great sites in the area..Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Curecanti National Recreation Area, and much more. Alex gave us several great tips for things to do around the area and even gifted us with some Olathe sweet corn. Overall, we had a great time and would absolutely recommend Hollow Horn Farm!
