High Prairie Camp
Magical 4th of July Weekend
This spot is pretty magical! Big sky views, surrounded by mountains and gracious hosts. It’s off the beaten path, but not too far from tons of hiking and outdoor activities. Fairplay is a super cute town not too far either (aka: Southpark, Co). Winds pick up late afternoon/evening. Our canopy blew away- amateur move on our part! Bring a telescope!

Wonderful place to stay
A peaceful beautiful space! The prairie is really nice and it served a nice time away as hoped for! There are roosters and generator like the reviews mentioned... and it’s WAY better than an overcrowded loud campground. Honestly. It took nothing away from this space!
I took shade with me, but didn’t really need it because the breeze kept it cool. A WONDERFUL escape out of the city! Rachel and her husband are very friendly. I will be back!

High Prairie Camp
This was a great place to spend a weekend! I got to watch some hot air balloons in the mornings, and bits of stars at night through the clouds. Rachel was in touch throughout the weekend, and gave me some ideas for nearby hikes. The portapotty is the cleanest one I’ve ever seen :)
This is not a complaint, but anyone considering booking should be aware of the roosters, which were sporadically crowing from before dawn until a few hours after. Rachel said she temporarily has more than her usual one rooster, so when you’re there there may be fewer. They weren’t that loud, really, but if you’re a light sleeper and want to sleep in, consider earplugs.

Great experience. Would go again.
Rachel was accommodating and respectful. She gave good advice about which way to go to reach our next destination. And also, was prompt at communication.
She has a beautiful dog, a ball of joy, who came running to greet us in the morning.
Although at the time ours was the only occupied camping spot, the other two sites were far apart and I reckon privacy is maintained.
Beautiful view of the entire sky. Also, mountains are visible. Coyotes did howl, we loved it. Would go back again.
We hadn't used the toilet, so no way to comment.
