Glen Isle is located in Bailey, Colorado which is the perfect vacation spot for friends, family, reunions, or a private get away.
Glen Isle was originally built for an escape from hectic Denver. Once you cross the bridge into the resort, you’ll understand why it has served as a peaceful getaway for over a century. The Platte River welcomes you and divides the property from Highway 285. If you love to fish, you have a mile of the river to use at your disposal. If hiking is your forte and you desire to explore nature, Glen Isle is surrounded by the National Forest, Lost Creek Wilderness, Payne Gulch Trailhead, the Colorado Trail and many private acres for you to explore.
You will find history narrates the Native American’s story where Glen Isle was once used as an Indian encampment, and numerous trees still stand today that were culturally modified to mark sacred treasures. If you seek tranquility, you will find hummingbirds and chipmunks always seeking an audience to entertain.
(Glorious Glen Isle was unoccupied for six years. We are in the process of renovating hundred year old cabins, and the 8,000 square foot lodge. Our camping areas have a river setting, glorious valley views, and a private setting surrounded by the National Forest. However, there is renovation and construction going on around the property. If you need more information, please do not hesitate to ask. Our goal is to share the property with others, and to have happy campers!)

What a perfect little cabin! This would be an ideal spot for couples or families as not only is the cabin fully outfitted with appliances, comfy furniture, and lots of different nooks to hang out, it overlooks the grand Glen Isle resort. Right out your front door you have hummingbirds and horses, a river to swim in, cliffs and forests to hike in or look out from, and actual Wilderness right up the road. Plus dogs are allowed! (just keep em off the furniture and on leash outside).
The hosts are wonderful people and very responsive and caring- they've thought of all the little touches that make this cabin an amazing getaway. In particular the hot shower in the super clean bathroom, the Keurig machine, and the comfy duvets were little things that surprised me and made the experience that much more enjoyable. Go check out the pictures for more info about what to expect in the cabin, but it really is perfect- if I could live there every day I would.
Thanks Mary Ruth and Greg for an amazing stay! We'll definitely be back.
Grey Ledge at Glen Isle resort was amazing! So cozy, so clean and soo cute! We got a tour of the grounds one night which was awesome, and enjoyed the perseid meteor shower just up the hill from the cabin. We had the best few days there and will definitely be back!
I absolutely LOVED Greyledge. The cabin was so cute and it felt like an instagrammable treehouse everyday, we got there and immediately felt comfortable and welcomed! There are spectacular views available on the property and so much to see. We were able to cook all of our meals and play games and disconnect from the world. There was so much to do in and around Bailey. We were able to go to Boulder and Colorado Springs for days trips if we wanted too. The grounds were very well marked and we were greeted upon arrival which added a great personal touch. Thank you so much for creating a magical space Mary Ruth and Greg, we'll definitely be back!
The property was a step back in time when resorts were family getaway. The cabin was very nicely restored and had everything we needed. The property had excellent fishing and hiking as well as access to the national Forest. The owners were very kind and the tour was amazing. This place will be spectacular when finished.
Sasquatch, sunsets and (s)more
Greg and Mary Ruth gave myself and two buddies in town from NYC an awesome glamping experience at Glen Isle Resort. We rented out one of the cabins for the night and had all of our expectations exceeded. The cabin itself (Greyledge) had a fully stocked kitchen for cooking, a clean bathroom (with hot water/towels), two beds, ample living space, and an elevated porch for us to hang out on. The cabin came stocked with both wood and fire-starters--an ideal setup for three less-than-qualified city kids.
Zooming out from the cabin, Greg and Mary Ruth were super accommodating. They provided recommendations on hikes, places to check out the sunset, campfire Sasquatch storytelling (complete with smores), tours of the historic lodge, etc. Will definitely be returning in the future!
P.S. Make sure to ask Mary Ruth about her childhood experiences at Glen Isle and how they ended up owning the resort. Adele is involved.
