The two campsites are private secluded areas that are tucked away in the forest behind my home (main structure). Because there are so many beautiful trees everywhere, they are relatively close to amenities but private.
This property is spectacular in many ways. The main reason I think so and say this is because it is nestled squarely between Raspberry Mountain and Harrison Mountain in the Alpine meadow at the bottom of the "box canyon" that the two mountains create together. If you look at the "Google Map" provided, you will see what I am trying to describe verbally.
There is a spring on the upper part of the property that is part of the pure "water shed" from Harrison Mountain. It runs 24-7 even on a dry year. Purest water I ever drank. What a special gift to enjoy and share.
I also love my meadow land that is "almost" rock-free and deep loamy soil that I farm and grow awesome vegetables during the summer months.

The vibe at Fort Bayly's Wilderness Camping
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Fort Bayly is truly a hidden gem. If I didn't have the photos, I might believe it was a dream.
Dave's property is nestled within an incredible aspen grove and contains an adorable treehouse, a micro-cabin, tent sites and RV sites w/ hookups. Some highlights included: stunning views of Raspberry Mountain, beautiful bird song, and the most delicious mountain air.
Dave's love for his home, his adorable pups, and the structures he takes care to build is readily apparent. I'm excited to see the guest outhouse and sauna he's working on building.
While it is a decent drive from Denver, once you arrive you feel right at home; it's secluded but not isolated. The drive in from Walsenburg is beautiful and we even saw a giant brown bear on a ridge over looking the highway! Amazing.
Please be sure to clearly communicate about your arrival time with Dave since he will need to meet you at the lake near his place in order to guide you the last few minutes of the way. Thanks Dave and best of luck! :)
