We are only three miles to Guffey Gorge/Paradise Cove! Central location to Cripple Creek (20 min), Florissant Fossil Beds (10 min), Canon City (40 min), Woodland Park (35 min). So many outdoor activities to explore. 11 Mile Canyon recreation area is an amazing place to spend the day swimming, hiking, climbing, tubing or fishing. Cripple Creek is around the corner and offers gambling and plenty of places to dine. Guffey Gorge is a must see short hike into a canyon with a waterfall and swimming hole where locals and visitors cliff jump! Miles and miles of hiking everywhere.

Debt-free and with our own two (four) hands. Meanwhile, we are a full-time RV family while we save and share our gem of a spot with campers. Don't hesitate to ask us questions or alert us if you've forgotten anything. We will be doing our own thing and respecting your privacy but are there to assist if needed.

Peaceful and conveniently located
Amber’s space was perfect. We had our own little private area on a hill, with a toilet! Overlooking farmland. You could hear mooing and a lot of birds. Really relaxing. Amber brought us treats our first day, which was really sweet of her. Very close to Paradise Cove, perfect daytime activity. Very happy, would highly recommend.
Beautiful spot w/ incredible hosts
Amber’s place was a beautiful spot in the back of their property. They went above and beyond to give us a little extra with wood chopped, utensils for a , and a welcome basket with extra goodies! The stars at night were some of the best I’ve seen. Amber’s husband gave us great recommendations nearby and we were able to check out Guffey’s Gorge and Eleven Mile state park, both fun adventures! We enjoyed our stay and recommend their spot to anyone going through that area!
Beautiful campsite, good for families. Beautiful view from the top where the campfire was. Amber and Jason were generous and hospitable hosts. Lots of interesting places to explore nearby. Remote Colorado experience and great view of the stars and Milky Way at night.
Best stay in colorado.
Wow! What can I say. Great atmosphere. Wonderful host. Amazing view horizontally, and vertically. Just a couple min drive from the gorge which is great. Best camping experience so far. I recommend the s’more package. 😉
Amber and her husband were fantastic hosts. The directions they provided were EXTREMELY helpful, as I'm sure we would have missed it just following Hipcamp directions.
They greeted us and even brought us a welcoming snack. The site is on their land and is situated on a hill behind their home. There is plenty of space to set up a large tent (we had a 4-person tent with room to spare) and they provided a composting toilet, which was very thoughtful.
The location is great - just a few minutes from Cripple Creek & Guffey Gorge. Because of its proximity to the road (County Road 11), the car/truck noise is definitely noticeable and may not be ideal for those who are light sleepers. There's also a decent amount of wildlife noise.
All in all, I think this is a great place. It looks like they're continuing to build for even more space and added amenities.
We loved staying at Amber S.'s Land! She was extremely welcoming and helpful. The statewide fire ban has put a bit of a damper on camping most places but the propane fire pit provided at the site was a great place to end the evening. We would definitely come back!
We visited for two days and had a good time. Unfortunately, it rained all of one of the days we were there so there was not much to do. We were kind of expecting the site to have some hiking available directly from it but there was not. Hosts brought coffee complete with cream and sugar both mornings and that was very nice! On our way home we stopped at Guffey’s Gorge which is awesome! Bring a bathing suit! We also had the unfortunate circumstance of having a flat tire we discovered on our first morning but our host was very gracious and helped us repair it enough to get it to the nearest tire store (about 40min away) to get it permanently repaired. He was very accommodating and let us use his phone to make some calls. Unless you have Verizon, your cell phone will not work for around 10 miles while you travel out of range and to the property. Don’t think your phone will work if you don’t have Verizon, it won’t. I would say tent camping only as there is no real place to put a camper that is anywhere but 200 yards from County Rd 11 which is closer than you would think. This does present a significant amount of noise both during the day and at night. Fire ban was in place but hosts had a very nice metal fire ring powered by propane. If you don’t have a 20lb tank you can bring they let us use theirs for $10 for our stay. This is a nice site that will be even better once the hosts clear the property of all the remnants (wood, cinder blocks) of what was once there. A very nice bath house is being constructed now so I believe the owners have the right idea. Not a bad place to camp if you don’t mind not being able to hike anywhere directly from the property.
Mountain and high prairie views
Beautiful views and private space - love the gas fire pit during these fire ban times. The hosts were great. The site is up an incline though - if you tow a camper that is very long you may wish to communicate in advance.
Far out stay at far out camp!
Far Out camp was just wonderful! Perfect place to camp with our energetic almost 4yr old. Plenty of spaces and levels to play and discover! Owners were so thoughtful and shared kids toys for campers to play with. Our son LOVED the tree swing! Views are amazing, incredible sunrises and sets. Compost potty was super easy and convenient to use and CLEAN. We used our car top tent and set up just at the base of their tent space, in between both staircases. Layout was so great, it was fun to climb and enjoy the view from all the spots. We saw some big black squirrels and deer in addition to the horses and cows in the surrounding stables. Hosts were super kind and friendly, extremely quiet too. We felt like we were the only ones there. Thanks so much for a great stay. Looking forward to coming back again!!!
