Description

An adorable little peninsula jutting into the Eleven Mile Reservoir, Howbert Point campground is a cozy place to snuggle up for the night. Wake up with the sun for a light hike around the three sided “island” to watch the sun dance on top of the waters surface for as far as the eye can see. A little less crowded than some other sites in the area, don’t count on being sheltered from the storm here.

Truly a beautiful location but maybe better for a stop at lunch or if you have a boat to get out there to see the whole lake and the rocky outcrops. Fishing is bad off the shore, water is shallow and filled with weeds. No paths. There is one above ground toilet and fellow campers like to prop the door open. Why??? Also no one picks up after dogs OR horses. Strong wind in the late afternoon.
