Restful, remote and responsible!
Everyone at Earth Mountain was so friendly and generous. The outdoor kitchen was super fun. Kids had a blast. So quiet in this beautiful mountain canyon. Enjoyed learning about sustainable living.
Living the permaculture dream
Joni was so welcoming and helpful. She answered endless questions from me and my daughters about permaculture and her farm. My girls loved playing with the goats, dogs and cats that roam the farm. The Wet Canyon valley is so lovely. We can’t wait to return to this special place.
Very peaceful and nice getaway from everything. Our host Joni was friendly without being intrusive. We enjoyed the goats, chickens, dogs, and cats as well as the wildlife. The musical instruments in the yurt were a big hit with our 7 year old.
Exactly what we needed!
FIRST. The view of the stars was unlike anything I’ve ever seen in my entire 28 years. And I’ve been desert camping for years in west Texas. I’ve been to star parties at the McDonald observatory but for some reason the stars were better here.
Along with that we had. Amazing weekend on this land. We got there and were greeted promptly, shown the land and it was gorgeous. There were other campers around and the campsites had tons of fun things to explore! I made a tipi! Lots to explore, and as for hiking we really just picked a direction and went in it and it was the best experience to explore! Worth the drive for the peace. And if you do go please respect their land, crops, and animals because this is also a place where people live and grow for the community. 😍
Earth Mountain Education Farm was perfectly unexpected. Joni was a lovely host and it was a joy creating a new memory for our family in a fun, private, clean location. We had three girls with us ranging from 2-8 years old and they had a great time. Pond not far, rope swing and great trails.
Exceptional camping experience
Absolutely beautiful place! There are camping spots, a farm, a pond, hiking trails and it's near Trinidad Lake. There is well water, an outhouse and an outdoor shower access for camping out. Joni is an amazing host and there is so much to learn from her. Will definitely be visiting again.
Quiet stay with the fun of a farm
Earth Mountain has created a very fun atmosphere that offers the best of both worlds for families - privacy where you want it at your campsite balanced with a kids' play area and the freedom to mingle with farm animals and camp staff in the common areas. We had the camp sites farthest from the common area - a separation just over 1000 feet, so very quiet if you don't mind the walk. A pit toilet is much closer though. I suppose the closer sites might not be quite as private. We relished the total absence of sound from vehicles and airplanes. The farm itself is very pleasant and charming, though like any farm it's important for visitors to keep in mind it's a work in progress.
Joni was super nice. We loved the site! They was a cute path that led us to our camp site. The kids loved the chickens and horse. Also, the garden was nice. It is pretty out there too! From Colorado Springs, Probably a third of the travel was on a dirt road too. We really enjoyed our stay!
